Excellent stay during our safari in the Serengeti. The hotel is in the best position in the middle of the park. Lodges are spacious and clean. We saw a buffalo, elephants and a dik-dik roaming around the lodges at evening and in the morning, which was incredible. Indeed, you have to be escorted to and from the room at darkness....

Truly a wild place to visit. Baboons looking through the windows at dinner time in the giant diningroom. Wood carved stairs and entries. Walkways through stones with pictographs painted on them. There were so many sounds of animals coming from the local lagoon that I had to wear earplugs to sleep. Hippos snorting, Elephants trumpeting, hyenas laughing, baboons playing. Hyraxes...

Every Serena property that I have stayed at has been interesting (I first stayed in year 2000). They are large, but they are constructed celebrating a local tradition in a respectful way or by utilizing geology or natural resources. There is always an emphasis on service and safety. The appointments are always nice. What I loved - I love the...

During our last evening at the hotel, while we were at the dinning hall, valuables were stolen from our suitcases inside our room. The same happened to a couple of friend also staying at the Hotel, pictures were taken to our credit cards and days latter there were attempts of using them in Internet (off course we cancelled them and...

Having stayed at other Serena hotels, this one didn't seem as comparable as the others. The individual huts are cute and certainly adequate. Because it is part of the national park, it is possible for the animals to roam about. Therefore, an escort has to take you to and from dinner. As has been said in other reviews, the staff...

The lodge has little huts with 3 rooms in each. They are well equipped and comfortable. Not huge but definitely enough room. Food was good although we did get tired of buffets. Staff very attentive and friendly. Really in the middle of the Serengeti with animals roaming about. We had two water buffalo visit when we were there.

Unique beehive two story huts, housing three apartments. Upstairs accommodation is best as has gorgeous views over the surrounding plains. No fences surrounding the property, so guards come to escort you to dinner after dark. Dikdik deer in the grounds and beautiful birds, all making the hut like village experience genuine. Meals very good, and despite a generator failure so...

The setting of this hotel overlooking the plains is one of its greatest assets. The other is the incredibly friendly and willing staff - from the chefs, to the waiters, to the guards that accompany you to your room (to protect you from wild animals that roam the unfenced grounds). The variety and quality of the meals was also good.
