One of the best situated camps in the central/south Serengeti.Fairly rustic but very comfortable and well equipped. This is what most first timers coming to Africa expect in terms of its relative remoteness, all under canvas, extensive views over the plains.Pioneer has a wonderful raised lounge on the top of a rock with 180 degree views looking out over 20 miles. Excellent service...

Our stay at Serengeti Pioneer Camp was perfect from our greeting by Alison until our departure with the whole staff sending us on our way. Each day was filled with the wonders of the Southern Serengeti. Upon our return to camp each day, we enjoyed drinks and the beauty of the view from the lodge, usually with a spectacular storm.,...

A wonderful base from which to explore the Serengeti. Luxury accommodation in tents that bring you back to 1930's old world safari camps. Food and drink were brilliant, very exciting to sleep close to the wildlife. The tents were spotless, polished hardwood floors, modern bathrooms, everything very well maintained. We were treated like royalty.

From arrival to departure our experience was beyond our wildest imagination. Tom, Alison, Army and our exceptionally knowledgeable guide Charles impressed us at every turn. Since our return we have not stopped raving to friends and colleagues about this unbelievable camp in the middle of the Serengeti.

Absolutely first class Safari camp in Southern Serengeti. Beautifully located, efficiently run, impeccably maintained and staffed with the friendliest personnel. This camp by itself was worth our entire safari trip. The immediate and easy accessibility to the incredible game of this part of the Serengeti added to the credibility of this camp as one of the premier exclusive lodging in...

We loved our uphill tent (#11 of 12) and the feeling of being safely in the wild, enjoying a full moon and lions roaring at night. John, our guide, packed each game drive with amazing sightings--the wildebeest migration, an illusive leopard, cheetahs, a lion kill, etc. The chef and his staff made meals a special time by presenting food beautifully...

This was our last stop before heading back to the U.S. While I must admit I was not prepared for such a "rustic" setting and given my back issues, I was not certain this accomodation would work for us. With that being said, we absolutely loved our stay here. The manager, Simon, took great interest in making sure we were...

Serengeti Pioneer Camp is part of the Elewana Group and therefore has common standards applicable to all Elewana properties. We were advised to this camp by our travel agents Go2Africa,an international travel agent well versed on conditions in Tanzania. They prepared an excellent plan for our entire trip covering Kenya & Tanzania for about 10 days, out of which we stayed in...

We absolutely loved our 3-night stay here and I do recommend staying at least 3 nights. We went with a group of 5 friends in 3 tents. A typical day starts 6:30 or a bit later for breakfast and then you're off for a game drive. If it's a full-day game drive, you'll have a picnic lunch in the bush....
