If you want exposure to the wild and be pampered at the same time, Sametu Camp is it. Great tents with your own private toilet, shower and comfortable bed. The dining was superb, especially the soup. The camp crew, headed up by Jonas were fantastic. They took care of your every request and were so friendly, you felt relaxed the...

Went to Southern Serengeti with Unique Safari's. Stayed at Sametu and Woodlands Camps in Central Serengeti and near Lake Ndutu in the south. The company was excellent in all respects - fantastic guiding, camps were very well run and the food was excellent. Same Camp is situated in the centre of an area controlled by a pride of 18 lions...

Spent two wonderful nights at Sametu with a group of friends on safari. A very comfortable way to see the central Serengeti. Spacious tents. Great beds. Hot showers. Flush toilets. Comfortable lounge area. Lovely dining room. Great food, wine and liquor. Very close to the animals...very, very close. And the staff could not have been more friendly or more anxious...

We loved this guest-focused, tented camp experience in the Serengeti. Incredible food, very comfortable accommodations, in the heart of wildlife. A warm, welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Can't say enough about this amazing experience.

After a very long day of game driving, we arrived to smiling faces and warm hospitality at Sametu Camp. JJ, camp manager, is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. The food was very good and the tents are rustic but we'll furnished. We had hot water bottles in our beds at night! Everything was quite perfect during...

This is a semi-permanent tented camp. Each tent has a bathroom, shower, sitting area with comfy chairs and a desk, a large bed, and seating outside the entrance of the tent. It has views of grassland and stream. We felt very secure in the tents, even though wildlife did come very close. At night, there is a native escort to...

We so appreciate you taking the time to post such a positive review of Sametu Camp and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay so much. It is always wonderful when the wildlife comes into or nearby the camp and I also sleep so well just drifting off to the sounds of nature at night. Since your stay in...

Wonderful camp well situated in central Serengeti. We stayed in a wonderful Family tent with two bedrooms and two bathrooms! Luxury camping for sure...hot showers on demand, w/c with flushing toilet and wood floor, vanity/sink with running water, comfortable beds with duvets and hot water bottles at bedtime! The food was wonderful, staff amazing. An excellent experience.

Equally well run camp in Serengeti. You just can't go wrong with these camps by Karibu. We were the only 4 people at this camp in early April. Great service, and staff, just like Lion Paws! If there is one suggestion, if you live in a cold climate country, you may find the locals view 'cold' very differently. Us from...

Thank you again for such a positive review. I think I should clarify for our American guests that the "teens" is Celsius and not Fahrenheit! The rim of the Crater is at about 8,000 feet of elevation and in the cooler months it can drop to 40s and low 50s at night. Thank God for hot water bottles and gas...

For three years I've brought the participants on my nature photography safaris to the Sametu camp. It's always a highlight of the trip. The relaxed atmosphere, scenery, proximity to the wildlife and staff make the camp a great experience.

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived, greeted by Jonas, his staff, and some local giraffes. The tents are roomy with comfortable beds, flush toilets, sinks and a shower. “Ask for a tent close to the dining area if you don't want a long walk. We enjoyed the tent at the end because it was close to the grasslands. Not a long walk to the dining hall but some might like to be a bit closer.”
