My husband and I spent two nights as part of our safari honeymoon (mid Feb 2014) and loved every minute at Olikira. We booked through Planet Africa, which is affiliated with the Asilia Lodges. From the moment we arrived, from the towel service when we got out of the cars, to when we left, we were in heaven. Olikira is...

We are a couple from Singapore and chose to stay at Olakira just before the big rain period. We stayed there end March 2014. The camp and staff were excellent. It was end of the season, we were fortunate with the weather, which was cool, with very little rain. Game rides were pleasant due to the weather and we saw lots...

My husband, one of our sons and I stayed at the Olakira Camp in December 2013 and we are still talking about the experience! We deliberately wanted to experience a camp that moves seasonally and we weren't disappointed. Hundreds more zebra and wildebeests arrived daily during our stay giving us a real sense of how the migration forms. Spectacular. The...

Being our second migratory camp safari, we (family of 4 with 2 kids age 15 and 10) were very pleased with Olakira and spent 4 days there. The camp facilities were overall excellent and the host, service, and guide were all very attentive and outstanding. Nathan, our guide, was excellent. The game viewing was very high quality and Nathan drove...

This camp was situated in an area of the serengeti where we got to see many lions and cheetahs. The tents were great and offered everything necessary for a luxury place to stay in the Serengeti. Food was good and the wine also was very good. I know this camp is mobile, so the view itself will change, but I...

Each place we stayed in was better than the one before. When we arrived here, we were blown away by the camp. Everything is so organized, clean and the staff are all so helpful and there when you need them. These aren't tents, their small houses. Inside, was a queen sized bed, a shower, flush toilet, a desk and a...

This camp is situated in the Ngorogoro conservation area sandwiched between the southern Serengeti and the crater. During our honeymoon trip in the beginning of March this proved to be the best location we stayed in for seeing the big cats. After 2 nights here we headed into the central Serengeti which seemed a common theme amongst the other guests...

We spent our last 2 nights in Tanzania at Olakira Camp. It is a fabulous camp and Alex greets you as you arrive and makes you feel quite at home. Our tent was number one - which proved interesting on our last night when a pride of lions set up base extremely close to our tent and serenaded us all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Immerse yourself in the Great Migration at Olakira Migration Camp. You will feel the earth vibrate during brave winter crossings of the mighty rivers in the north, or be moved beyond measure by the mass summer calving on the south's grassy plains. Olakira follows the massive herds of wildebeest to two spectacular locations in the north and south of the Serengeti National Park. Home from December to March is the southern Serengeti, where herds of wildebeest calve simultaneously and the plains throng with new life. As the dry days of winter arrive, Olakira relocates north to the confluence of the Mara and Bolongonja rivers for spectacular game viewing at the Mara River itself and around the Lamai Wedge. ... more   less
