I'm so bummed that TripAdvisor didn't save my thoughtful, lengthy review. Let's just say (for now) to DO IT. Splurge. Location, accommodation, staff, guides are all AMAZING. Special shout out to camp manager Pascale, and our incredible guide Elisante. Beautiful life memories.

This is a perfect place from which to see wildlife. The staff is very helpful and the tents are well positioned. Food is excellent and everything is professionally managed. Overall, a great experience for our five day visit.

We enjoyed our stay here, I was a bit worried since it was the most rustic of all the places we would stay. There was nothing to worry about. The food and service was super. The general areas for lounging were great places to relax and catch up with others safari stories. The dinner service was superb. We saw all...

We had a wonderful time at Olakira. The staff was terrific and the game-drives were fruitful. We saw 17 different Cheetah in two days. The migration was something to see. Ask your driver to take you to Hidden Valley if the Camp is nearby at that time.

All crew members (incl. our guide Nathan) are extremely intent, friendly, kind and not obtrusive at all. We had such a warm welcome everytime we came back to the camp and the campfire every evening is perfect for a drink and chats with the other guests. Also the variety and quality of the food was great. The huge, luxury tents...

Olakira Camp did not disappoint. With excellent food and great tented accommodation, this was the perfect place to spend 3 days of my trip to Tanzania. The wildlife viewing was excellent and the camp staff wonderful. During my stay, we were primarily looked after by Pascal who met us after each drive to check we had had a good time....

Well managed, caring staff, great food, plenty of libation, nice showers, well appointed, and a very comfortable bed. What more could you want after spending a day watching and enjoying the sites while on safari.

We spent 3 nights at Olakira Sept 30 - Oct 3, 2016. The camp is situated near the Mara River and we could see the river from our tent. It was a convenient location as there were several crossings while we were eating or resting in our tent. We'd hear the call, "they're crossing" and run to the jeeps and...

We stayed at Olakira in late December and had an incredible time! The staff did a fantastic job turning a mobile camp into absolute luxury. I never expected a king size bed and hot showers while camping on the Serengeti! The food was great, whether eating in the dining tent or packed up for a picnic while out on a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Immerse yourself in the Great Migration at Olakira Migration Camp. You will feel the earth vibrate during brave winter crossings of the mighty rivers in the north, or be moved beyond measure by the mass summer calving on the south's grassy plains. Olakira follows the massive herds of wildebeest to two spectacular locations in the north and south of the Serengeti National Park. Home from December to March is the southern Serengeti, where herds of wildebeest calve simultaneously and the plains throng with new life. As the dry days of winter arrive, Olakira relocates north to the confluence of the Mara and Bolongonja rivers for spectacular game viewing at the Mara River itself and around the Lamai Wedge. ... more   less
