We went there two weeks back. The actual place was not a true representation that is displayed in the website. When I inquired at the reception about this, the lady told me the pictures in the website were taken in 1998, not answering or explaining the false advertising. Furthermore, the service was dismal and waiters were usually drunk. They had...

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We value all the feedback we get. We are not sure who gave you the information about the photos on our website as the photos displayed were taken less than a year ago. We are sorry you did not get the service you deserved and if any one of...

It is what it is. A pick up joint. When you know that its great! No surprises. Good band and dj's towards weekends. Watch out for the Syrian pimp at the pool table though. He's been slowly growing in stature, befriending unwary customers, harassing the girls, in other words.....pimping.

Hi, Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the band and the DJ's. There is a very mixed group of patrons at Q-Bar, all ages and from all over the world. We are not sure who this Syrian person is but we will keep an eye out in case he comes back. Thank you, Q-Bar Team

Stayed here recently on a Saturday night and can only say - stay away if you want to sleep! It is more of a seedy club with rooms than a guesthouse with a bar. The room was ok, a twin not as booked a double but do-able. Unfortunately the music was terrifyingly loud into the small hours. Even being in...

Hi, I am sorry your stay was not as you expected. We have since June 1st closed in the bar. There is now an outside area and an inside area with Air-conditioning. The Live band plays on the inside. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Q-Bar Team

We booked this as our final destination of a two week long trip through tansania and in preparation of a long flight home. Therefore the expectations were set in advance as we wanted to have a clean, safe, close-by place in Dar. After spending two nights here, I have to say, expectations were exceeded by far. Q-bar is really everything...

Cheap beers. But definitely not a place to sleep. Get really loud at nights and not a place to sleep and rest. But for beers it's a okey place. 24000 for a keg of beer. If u want to get drunk for as little money as possible this is a okey place to go. Didn't eat

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are not sure if you stayed with us but we have now closed in the bar so hopefully you will try when in Dar es Salaam next. The Live music is now inside. We also hope you will try eating next time, Chef Willex is well known for...

I echo many of the complaints people have written in their review. I stayed here for one night, though I was planning on staying more. I agree with others that it should be clear there is music playing and you can not sleep until late in the early hours of the morning. They should turn it into a hostel/backpackers place...

Hi, Thank you for your review. We have a very well known band, Banana Zorro and The B-Band, who play every Thursday until 1am. On Friday's we have a band called Bora Bora who also play until 1am. Saturday's we have a resident DJ who plays until 2am. Since June 1st we have also closed in the bar, all the...

I arrived at 10pm in a Saturday night. Had to make my way through a loud bar full of prostitutes to reception...where I then had to wait around for someone to come and show me to my room. Room 5...ground floor (of the guest house) with a window into the terrace section of the bar (complete with prostitute dancing outside)....

The q-bar downstairs is a lively sports bar, with good bar food. The guesthouse is separate, with its own reception and good security. The more expensive rooms are huge, with nice beds, big desks with enough plugs for all your gadgets, whatever the plug. Wifi is reliable, though not super fast as in all of Dar es Salaam. Floors are...

I knew the QBar 15 years ago when I lived in Dar and it has not changed one bit, except that the loud music seems to be every night now instead of just at the weekends - my mistake. I stayed recently for three nights as I did not want to spend much and I knew the rooms were pretty...

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We did have new management from early 2015 to June 2015 and we did have a great deal of issues at this time. One was them playing music every night. We took back the management at the end of June and have since tried to make changes. New beds...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A small hotel on the Msasani Peninsular. Only 10 km from the city centre, a ten minute walk to Coco Beach and right behind the famous Tinga Tinga market. There is now an inside and outside area for the bar and restaurant. You can choose to sit under the stars or if it is too hot you can cool off in the Air-conditioned lounge. We have a Live band on Thursday's and a DJ on Saturday's. The bar is busy and has a good vibe, the restaurant is well known for the BBQ, Sea Food Platters, Steak Flambe and Fajita's. There are also several restaurants and shops within walking distance. The atmosphere is laid back and a great place to meet other travelers and people living in Dar es Salaam. ... more   less
