Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here after an overland tour and couldn’t have been more impressed with service and kindness. The Hotel is ideally located in downtown Dar. The room was ideal with a good shower and air conditioning. The included breakfast was also excellent with friendly staff and great choice of local foods. We had a late flight change and were offered a late check out and an easy reorganisation of our airport transfer. We recommend this Hotel and after visiting over 100 countries feel it is up there with the best.

* Restaurant was fine and lady working in the restaurant was nice. * During reservation we asked for two rooms with balcony, close to each other. We had the answer that they will be provided. But when we arrived we saw that only one of the rooms had a balcony. We insisted and after some talk we had two rooms with balcony. But they told, only the manager has the master key and if we'd like to go out, we should ask the staff to get into the room again. We were just staying for one night so we did not mind too much but this was weird. Regarding location, if you need to be close to Kariakoo market, this place is fine but the area is not so pleasant. Also, there was an interesting notice at the room's door saying "If you stay somewhere else without informing the hotel, your room would be emptied in the morning". Although this had nothing to do with our stay, it was weird to see such a notice that we never met before. One last thing, there are many registered taxis outside. You can take them if you agree with the price.

The room provided was really dirty and so was the toilet, full of hair everywhere. The room itself was old and not well maintained. The view from the room was pretty much someone else apartment 2m from your room. Breakfast was terrible as well.

<Good point> - All breakfast buffet cuisines tastes sooo nice, not so oily / spicy / salty, it's fine for daily meal. - Free Wi-Fi in the room, good to work inside. - Staff are well-trained and speak clear English, easy to communicate with. - All staff including manager are always friendly, kind, smiling and amiable, cozy to stay. - A/C and fan are installed in each room. - Hot shower by electric boiler in each room, anytime can take nice shower with plenty amount of hot water. - Taxi service is available and porter support me to negotiate the fare with driver. - Conference room with fixed projector is available for maximum 30 members, can hold business meeting there. <Points to be improved> - No security box in each room. You have to deposit your valuable items at reception if you hope to do so. - No remote for A/C in the room. You can only choose turn on or off. Sometimes hard to keep the suitable room temperature. - No sign for A/C and boiler switch on the wall. If you turn on all switches there would be no problem, but some of my friends stayed at the same time could not take hot shower because they couldn't identify the boiler switch. - If you want to drink alcohol, you have to buy outside (restaurant doesn't serve it).

I stayed in both branches in January 2019, both branches are loacated very well depending on your needs. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Great continental breakfast is served. Very friendly environment with 24 hours WiFi avaible. The owners are very approachable and are flexible to accommodate your needs. I would strongly recommend sleep inn if you ever visit Dar Es Salaam.
