All about the decor and setting - just the best. Take your kids along and they can play on the beach while you have a glass of wine. Service is a bit slow, but well worth it. It would stick to fish , but great pizzas too.

We spent the last night on our long Tanzania journey in Mediterraneo. It was a pleasure to come here and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The stuff is very welcoming and happy to answer all kind of questions. Thank you for having us in your litte paradise.

I made my booking with an online agent and happened to go to the hotel before hand to just confirm my booking. On getting there, there was an issue with my booking and on trying to have it sorted out, I was arrogantly directed to go back to the booking agent by the proprietors yet the agent would have to... we spend one night in Dar on our way to Zanzibar. The place is beautiful with lots of bougainvilliers. The decor is exotic and very relaxing. we had dinner in front of the sea, in the quiet night and great ambiance music. Food was not special but good. The rooms are very comfy but a bit noisy. The place was... More

The restaurant staff was attentive, the menu extensive, and the food delicious. The Hotel Mediterraneo landscaping is lush and tropical with breathtaking views of the turquoise and emerald Indian Ocean. The room was ok---a little skimpy with towels, the floor was dirty and the room was lacking some attention, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom gleaming with a... More

I've been coming back to Tanzania for 2years, had stayed in the Serena and in the DoubleTree many times before. From now on I don't want to stay anywhere else in Dar Es Salaam. The rooms are super clean, nice and cleverly designed with UK and EU wall sockets next to the bed, a very comfy veranda overlooking a beautiful... More

If you're going to Dar es Salaam, this is a good place to stay as it's out of the bustle of the city in a peaceful spot by the beach. The grounds are well taken care of and the restaurant and bar area by the beach is a lovely place to sit and relax in the evening. The room was... More

The Mediterraneo Hotel is located a few kilometres north of the city centre in a rather quiet corner of the city. The room I had (no. 12) is very nice and spacious and I found it spotless clean. It had aircon and fan, a really comfy bed with mosquito net, TV, as well as a nice bathroom. Staff at the... More

Just got back from a 3 night booking at this hotel. My fiancé and I stayed here during part of our tour of Zanzibar and Tanzania. The staff were very friendly and polite upon check-in. We arrived slightly early, so we went over to the restaurant to grab some lunch whilst the room was being prepared. As we approached it,... More
