We spent 4 fantastic days at Ras Bamba in July 2014. A wonderful experience - Dieter and Flora are great hosts - very relaxed and yet passionate about sourcing their food ingredients locally. We saw the fish, lobster or crab that would we would enjoy later on in our lunch or dinner being carried in from the sea having been...

Ras Bamba is Zanzibar 30 years ago when you could have a pristine Indian Ocean beach all to yourself. It is restful for the soul and kind to the environment using collected rainwater for the showers. I loved the open air design of the spacious bathroom and the sound of the ocean from our bed. You'll spend the days walking...

This place is truly special. We came here after our Kilimanjaro climb and Dieter and Flora were so welcoming. The place is beautifully located on a secluded beach, just 45 minutes from Dar es Salaam. The property lies miles away from everything, this is a hidden secret on the Tanzanian coast. A piece of Tanzanian Paradise, just for us! We...

We often seek places to go to as an escape from Dar, and Ras Bamba was heavenly! The accomodation is perfect, right on the beach, clean, wonderful fresh breeze and an amazing outdoor shower to force you to relax! We often stay along the coast and I will say that this location has the cleanest stretch of beach, and the...

Flying in from Europe and before taking off to Mafia Island, we spend the Christmas days at Ras Bamba (3 nights). Our aim : find a tranquil, unspoiled place to rest and refill the batteries. Well, we did find much more .... It's only a 90 mins drive from Dar airport (ferry included) and what you find is pretty unbelievable....

We go to Dar es Salaam on business purposes several times a year. During the weekends we need relaxation and a break from Dar. Of course Zanzibar is an option for that - also The Mafia Islands. However Ras Bamba is an excellent option as well.We went to Ras Bamba this July for a weekend and we loved it! It...

Dieter and Flora provided us with a splendid stay that was wonderfully refreshing. We were provided with a generously large, airy cabin right by the beach, with a front veranda and a rear outdoor shower. A remarkable balance is achieved between nature and luxury. The dining, prepared by Flora herself during out stay, was impeccable. There is a wonderful beach...

Ras Bamba is an oasis of beauty and tranquility, a rare treasure. We spent a weekend there and wished we could have stayed much longer. It's an upscale family-run operation, with Dieter and Flora as your warm hosts. They raise the food on site. The highlights for us were the mile-long unspoiled beach, the mangroves, the home cooking, and the...
