Some one recommended this place and I made a trip from other town and arrived at night, I made a reserve 7 days prior my arrival but when I got there there was no reserve for me, no rooms left, did not get an option or solution to my problem, I had to drive around searching for another hotel. Really bad experience

Staying at this bed and breakfast was an excellent experience for my husband and I. It was a great place to collect our thoughts before going on our mission trip to a different part of Honduras and also a great place to unwind afterwards. Our bed was comfortable and there were plenty of gluten free options for breakfast. I can’t say enough good things about Refugio de la Montaña. You need to experience it for yourself. If we are ever back in SPS we will definitely stay here again.

The name is accurate. This is a refuge, a calm place of safety at the base of the mountain. The center of the city is a few kilometers away, and this is a good thing, at least if you're looking to relax. In the day time you listen to birds, at night there are frogs and crickets. It's a family business and the family lives there in the main house. The guests rooms are across the patio on the other side of the swimming pool. It's like a hacienda with private rooms for the extended family. The tile work is immaculate. My room had a large ceiling fan and a quiet air conditioner. The bed was of the finest kind. The tv was on the wall and four feet wide. Plus, the people who live there will save your rear side, literally. I know from personal experience. I was only there a few days and Joe feels like a brother. Scott Carrier
