I would go back here on a future visit. Luis is the manager and a great host. All the employes were very friendly. There is a free shuttle from the ferry dock to the lodge, about a 20 minute ride. It is located on a river with a nice deep natural swimming hole in front of the lodge. The water...

I can't recommend Jungle River Lodge enough. We were treated so well there by Luis and the staff. The guides were so professional and well schooled in the local forest and river. We"re a little older than most travelers, but it made no difference to the staff. As a vegetarian it's sometimes hard for me to get a good meal in central...

The Jungle River Lodge is a fantastic place to escape the demands of everyday life. Sleeping in a room next to the roaring river in a rain forest is an experience you will not forget. We only had the opportunity to stay for one night as this was at the tail end of our trip, but it was enough to...

Excellent location for venturing out into the Jungle, the lodge looks over Rio Cangrejal! We had a double room for $40. The room was basic with a bathroom and faced the river, which was really cool. We could hear the river all night, it was very relaxing. We didn't Raft as we only had one night, but we swam and...

This place was fantastic! My girlfriend and I came up for a night to this tucked away gem in the mountains of a park. You get a free night of lodging with an activity, and we took a hike on our first day. We had such a great time with our guide (just the three of us hiking through a...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were really helpful and friendly, a special mention for Luis who works day in and day out....but loves it! The lodge is right next to the river, the surrounds are breathtaking. Your meals are provided by the lodge, at a rate of (US) $6 breakfast, $4 lunch, $8 dinner. There is nowhere...

“The private rooms with the riverside windows are very comfy; beautiful combination of wooden beams and stucco with embedded stone.”
PlainLo, 5 Aug 2014 | Read review
“Ask for a private room with a hot shower. Apparently they have cold shower options. If you are a hiker, get a dorm room, they are cheap. Try to get a room that faces the river. Try to get a room that is far from the bar. I heard music and voices from it at 1am.”
