Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got to La Ceiba in the early evening to be told by a taxi driver that this hotel had closed down. We had booked online and hadn't paid up front so didn't lose any money. We tried to contact the hotel but didn't get a response so we stayed elsewhere. Not sure if this is permanent or temporary closure but be warned!

My flight from San Pedro to La Ceiba was delayed which meant I missed the ferry to Utila. yay! So at La Ceiba terminal I scrambled around to find somewhere to sleep. I stayed at Estadio a few years back so was glad to see they were still around. Unfortunately I was not able to book online so I just jumped into a taxi and got there. I rang the bell and was greeted immediately by someone (sorry, forgot her name) and let them know I did not have a booking. At this point Pete walks in and remembered me from the previous stay from a few years back. Anyway, they did have space, helped me out for the next day and were nothing but helpful. This place is not the Ritz. If you expect that, La Ceiba probably isn’t for you. It’s clean, safe and the guys working here will do anything for you. Cheers!

Agressive owner, got threatened like many others, be careful. Stalking me and was very rude followed by lot of vulgar language. All started that i wanted to receive my letter at his reception after that he said for 20 dollars i refused than started violence from him and stalking my fb and showing me my picture of me and my girlfriend. Unacceptable

Peter has assisted us on several occasions when we have called him for transportation needs on the mainland and in general to research needed equipment in La Ceiba which we are not able to find on our home island of Utila. He has been reliable and upfront about fees. One must consider the amount of time it takes to call, locate and pay for labor and gasoline when judging prices of services rendered. His fees have always been far better then taking a ferry over running about in a taxi(s) to locate equipment/goods or trying to arrange for transportation. Thank you Peter for all your help in the past couple of years.

The ferry did not you so we looked in LP for a place 1877Hostel is closed. We ended up in the next listed El Estadio. Peter the owner of El Estadio tries to service but even booking a flight for us 2 cost 1000 lempira more than promised. No wifi, messy place. My tip is trybthe next one in LP.

Not sure what the other reviews are about but I had a nice, easy stay at Peter's hostel in La Ceiba. He organized our boat trip to Utila, and was there to pick us up when we got back. He also helped out with getting my lost credit card shipped to his place in La Ceiba while I was on Utila. He also hooked me up by calling our private shuttle driver on the way to the drop off to ensure I got the front seat on the drive. Would totally recommend this place, and will hopefully get to go back. Also - GREAT A/C, which is rare in Central America!

I have ordered twice transportation services with Hotel El Estadio. The entire communication was done via WhatsApp, as we didn't accommodate at this Hotel. I must express my thankfulness to the owner, Mr. Peter Eden, who was of great help for our journey! Even there would be some changes for the transport, Peter will always provide a solution for guests to arrive to the destination safely without extra charge. I will definitely order transportation service from Peter again in the future! Meanwhile, I would recommend Peter's transportation service to those travellers who don't speak or speak very little Spanish, because Peter is bilingual!

The owner of the hostel is really taking care of his customers. I had a really good time. Whenever we needed something, we could ask him and he would take care of it. Because of him we had an awesome diving course in Cayos Cochinos. The beds are ok and there is AC, which is great in this hot city in the caribean.
