Upon reserving, I specifically asked about dining to confirm the situation that I thought may have changed due the epidemic. Contrary to the information on Hotel Marina, much to my surprise and disappointment the restaurant is not open. It was not until we wanted to dine at 6:30 in the evening that we were informed that their dining options were unavailable at that hour. WHAT??!! Once again, this morning, much to my chagrín, I learned that no food service nor coffee was available until 8:00 a.m. After many stays, for the first time, I was told that I must pay upfront. Now I understand why. The hotel has the responsibility to accurately portray what it offers. It is fraudulent to present, as is falsely presented on the website, services that are unavailable.
It is located in the city center near the ruins, it was very nice to walk along the quiet streets, the residents are very friendly, very similar to provincial Spain. The hotel area is all in colors, in the corridors are old musical instruments. The furniture in the rooms is also antique. Very nice restaurant with good food. Here we could stay for a few more days ... but we need to go to the next ruins.
Great hotel with pool , gym, sauna and an excellent masseuse. Located steps from the village square, with an excellent restaurant. Loved it. would have stayed longer, but my schedule would not allow it.
We spent there 2 nights and were very happy with the hotel. Service is very good, all our questions have been answered, the room was very large with a small balcony and a panoramic window overlooking the city (premium room). We used the complementary breakfast and also had dinner 2 times in the quiet hotel garden. The food was excellent on both occasions. The room was clean, well maintained and decorated nicely. I strongly recommend to stay there when visiting Copan. To the Copan ruins it is a 5 minutes drive or half an hour walk. The plaza del armas (center) is around the corner. You can explore the city by walking around, all is save, people are very friendly, especially if you can speak (at least some) Spanish.
Outstanding service, beautiful setting, really nice bathroom and the patio right outside the door inside the hotel itself was very special and comfortable beds and a great breakfast buffet. Close to city square and food in hotel was very good. Would not wander alone but shops are nearby.
