Absolutely loved my time here. Comfortable bed in the dorm, tranquil atmosphere (enough travellers to talk to but not crazy busy) and amazing hot showers. Very clean and well kept and yummy cafe next door, the owners and staff are very nice too!Booked 3 nights stayed a week, cannot recommend highly enough.
This is the second time I've stayed in Iguana Azul and I couldn't recommend it more both for solo and group travelers looking to relax and eat great food (home made everything; including fresh bread!) all the while being close to everything that copan has to offer. Very friendly owners and staff, the place is also spotless (with hot showers!).
I absolutely loved my stay at the Iguana Azul. For three young girls, it was very safe, comfortable, and accommodating. I would recommend it to anyone visiting copan. They have the most delicious cafe next door that is absolutely adorable and have amazing food. They even offer massages and it was the cutest little massage area ever. I loved it here and I wish I could have stayed longer. I cannot emphasize enough how great this place was! Especially for female travelers!
The Iguana azul is definitely my choice of acommodation in Copan. Above all the hostel is very well facilitated with daily room service, comfortable beds, free towels and free supply of drinking water. Howard, the owner, is a very friendly and helpful person who provides you with all the necessary information you need upon request. Located only a couple of minutes from the main plaza of Copan Ruinas the hostel provides you with a ver calm atmosphere. The hotel next door, which is also owned by Howard, provides you with a great breakfast for only 6 USD (unlimited coffee!) and an even more appealig view of the mountain scenery. I would definitely chose this Hostel again, or even try out the Hotel.
Nice place with really friendly staff and s really good cafe next door. My only qualm is- they have signs saying to turn off the lights when not using them because 70% of Honduras’ electricity comes from oil. So why not invest in a solar panel? They would save money on electricity and would drastically cut their oil usage and carbon footprint. Food for thought.
