It has taken me months to submit this report because part of me wants to say something good about this place. I don't mind rugged experiences but I just feel I have to write something because I this was an overall unpleasant experience. We were shorted dives, and we weren't treated well enough overall. I have been to Utila previously...

My husband and I just visited this resort with a dive group. We had the whole resort. The staff are great- rooms were kept cleaned and the cook Anna was great. The only problem is that we kept asking for fresh fish and native Honduran food since all we kept being served the first few nights was chicken and more...

Arguably, Deep Blue has the best location of any of the other "all inclusive type" dive resorts in Utila. Besides the three dives per day package they offer, there is a great little reef right in front of the main building for unlimited shore diving. The rooms are spacous, the grounds well kept and equipment is high quality and in...

I put whale sharks as the heading as that is what we really wanted to see, it was out of the season for them but yes we did see them .....fantastic. Small family run hotel run by Steve and his mother Shirley who was fantastic and great company as well, there were 12 other people there at the time and...

Returned from Deep Blue after a seven day stay. What a wonderful place to dive, snorkel, and make new friends. The rooms are big, spacious, and very clean. I am not a diver but loved the shore snorkeling. You can also go out on the boat with the divers and snorkel. Shirley was the best. All of our needs we're...

This place is primitive so if your looking for a 5 star resort then don't stay here. That being said we enjoyed our stay all of the staff were friendly and we loved Shirley. If your looking for an adventure then this is the place for you. The diving was great Steve was our dive master he was very knowledgeable...

We just returned from 10 days of wonderful diving in Utila from Deep Blue Resort, a lovely 10-unit resort dedicated to diving and whale shark research. The rooms are spacious and clean, with gorgeous ocean views. The location is isolated although only a short boat ride to town. Because the resort caters to scuba divers, mealtimes revolve around the boat...

Unless you are only going to dive, eat on time at the designated table, and sleep I'd recommend against this place. Shirley's poor temper casts a gloomy atmosphere over the whole operation. Lights are out in the main building (only wi-fi area) right after dinner. No fun, no camaraderie with fellow divers. The room had 1 very small, filthy A/C,...

Beach location on the island of Utila. Shirley offers fine hospitality and homestyle accommodations. Dive staff helpful. Could be more variety in the menu and general maintenance of property isn't the best. Dive operation somewhat chaotic with stops for diesel and tank refills between dives. Captain Ivor very good at finding offshore seamounts and whale sharks for limited interaction. Insect...

I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars. This was a nice resort with good diving, and a great dive crew. The resort was located far out of the main town so it was nice and quiet. We had to take the boat to town, which was fine with our group. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The...

“All the rooms are ocean front and have a good view, but you can hear the people above you. Recommend 2nd story unless you don't like the stairs.”

“Since the resort is located only meters from the water, you will hear the sound of waves. All rooms are great.Note, Deep Blue is a dedicated dive resort, not really a family resort, and if you don't dive, there is not much else to do. The resort is across the canal from the township of Utila. Home to whale shark project and iguana conservation center. It is also an endeared community of backpackers, divers and "alternative" travelers. I love this place and I fit in much more with the town folk than I do as a "resort " diver. Getting here can be challenging but not difficult, have a good travel agent familiar with the area.”
