My friend and I stayed at this charming boutique hotel and were delighted. The rooms were tastefully furnished with antiques, regional art covered the courtyard walls as well as our room, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. Breakfast comes with the room, and the prices are $20-$25/night. Walking to the main plaza is 10 minutes along cobblestone streets....

Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful place, with all you need and delicious breakfast, not to forget the kind and smiley staff and owner. Clean bed, clean room, gorgeous garden, books and magazines to read, hot water in shower, small TV, lovely breakfast area, good coffee at breakfast (vey important because Guatemalans regularly drink fake coffee). Plenty of liberty....

This place is peaceful, affordable, exceptionally clean - LOVED the welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are so tasteful, have beautiful modern artwork. The beds are comfortable and have warm blankets when needed. Many excellent breakfast options. Friendly staff and the owner personally greets and welcomes you. HIGHLY recommend this bed and breakfast!

A short lovely stroll away from the center of Quetzaltenango (parque centro America) this casa is located in a quiet and pretty residential part of the city where you can wonder about the little cobbled roads and absorb local vibes and watch daily life go by! The rooms are lovely and spacious far away from any busy road and noise...

We found Xela to be dusty and difficult to 'get to know'. Having such a nice property to come home to was wonderful. The house is lush and well maintained by a small staff who are eager to please and speak the slowest, most thoughtful Spanish to this always-trying student. The room was clean albeit chilly but a heater quickly...

Casa San Bartolome is a small B&B located near the center of Xela. Good service, comfortable beds and affordable. Plan on staying here again when I come back to Quetzaltenango. Breakfast options are good, and maybe the only problem is that the parking could get a bit noisy if somebody parks at night.

Good hotel, a bit cold, but that's the type of building and Xela. Good breakfast in the morning. A bit far from the center of town, although it seems safe, butthe center is dark. We were surprised to see the center of Xela not changed or even worse that 12 years ago....

I stayed here for the better part of two weeks in July and August. I love this place and will definitely stay here when I return to Xela for more Spanish classes! My room was on the second floor, so I stepped right out into a wonderland of flowers and green plants (a total delight for someone from Northern Canada!)...

Five of us stayed here for 4 nights on a textile tour of Guatemala. This hotel and the Utz Jay in Pana were our favorites. The rooms were wonderful -- neat and nicely decorated, and the beds were comfortable. One cold night the staff offered to bring heaters in the rooms. We had breakfast there every morning, and the dinners...

I spent a month here after living with a host family for 5 months. That was a great experience, but I wanted the ability to cook and have a bit more privacy. Everyone at Casa San Bartolome was warm and welcoming. They even brought me tea and jello when I was sick with a stomach bug. The beds are comfortable, the...
