A cozy place, clean and warm rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms in excellent condition. Near the central park and close to everything. They include breakfast and has free wifi. When traveling to Xela not forget to check this place a hostel like very few. I just do not have parking

Black Cat was a solid, basic accomodation in Xela. The dorms were clean, it is well-located right off the main square, has a delicious free breakfast, and the wifi is fast. Additionally, the staff was friendly and helped us organize an inexpensive shuttle to Antigua. There's not much of an ambience though - this is more like a hotel than... More

We stayed in an individual room with private bath. Good price quality rattio in general. Room a bit dark though and the bed had been placed very low close to the ground. Electrical shower perfect with plenty of hot water. They should have left one or two thick blanckets in the rooms as nights can be cold. We asked for... More

I stayed here while doing several day climbs of nearby volcanoes. Good hostel, clean, but pretty noisy. Some of the staff were awesome but a few of the ladies who work there were rude. Overall, I would still stay again. They have a kitchen, but they don't let guests use it to cook for themselves. That is one improvement they... More

Warm showers, good big breakfast, cool little courtyard with lots of plants. Possible to meet lots of interesting travelers. A bit noisy in the morning from lots of stuff going on but other than that it's a great experience.

Unfortunately arrived in Xela with no accommodation and got recommended the Black Cat hostel. Room seemed nice and clean, however the bedroom next to the upstairs bathroom had bed bugs, walls are paper thin so you can hear everything during the night and shower I took in the morning was cold (think all the hot water got used up because... The Black Cat Inn offered a fine bad in a bit crowdy dormitory. It is close to everything, and they offer a very quick laundry service and hot water in the shower. It is a really nice place to stay in.

We only had one night here and two rooms had bed bugs. Luckily my partner found them before spending the night in that bed but the other girls we met staying here weren't so lucky and got fairly badly bitten. I don't need to say anything more. The location is nice and the included breakfast is lovely but I wouldn't... More

We stayed here when visiting my friends sister who lives in Xela. Xela in general is pretty sleepy and the hostel definitely reflects that but it's very relaxing. The cafe has great food and is a cozy place for a coffee and a book. The rooms are comfortable, no hot water though!

This is a lovely cheap hostel located very close to the central plaza and all its facilities. The staff are so sweet and kind and will do whatever they can to meet your needs such as an extra blanket on a cold evening or some extra thick towels for your shower. It is attached to a small restaurant which serves... More
