I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Gil Resort. A wonderful staff (language was a little bit of a barrier, but that's on me). I had a first floor room, and frequented the covered deck out on the water for a window to the gulf. Nice two level restaurant that serves coffee and breakfasts. Was able to walk just about anywhere...

Nothing to complain about except the price. A little over priced but compared to other places we saw. Livingston is a small town with not much to do. If you are looking for a place to relax than you should have a good time.

The overall property sits in a little hole in the wall area of Livingston with a school nearby and a huge development hotel at the corner of the street. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean but towels were ragged and soap seemed scarce. It was about $30 per nite and you had to pay in advance..

First off, the Hotel Gil has a great location, seafront on a quiet street just two blocks from the intersection of the two main streets in town. It’s steep hillside location offers multiple levels to view the sea and enjoy the breeze, all the way down to a small pier with a covered deck, where you can make excellent photos...

Nice quiet place by the water; several levels of rooms up a steep hillside. At the bottom of the stairs is a quiet place to sit and watch the sea. Our room was clean, the sheets were the thinnest sheets I've ever encountered anywhere, which is a plus in hot weather, but we were there during a cold front. Brrrr....

You have to pay in advanced. The hot water wasn't working well, they fix it the first day, the rooms are clean but the bathroom smells weird (garlic) the sheets had some yellowish and red spots. The beds and pillows are terrible. The service is good and the staff is really friendly. Livingston is a really small town (really small),...

Me and my family were there in August, the location is very convenient, the water taxi will leave you right at the hotel's dock which is a few steps and stairs from the reception area. Prices are very reasonable and breakfast in the morning was fresh and very good. The Mgr and the staff went went above and beyond to...

Livingston will ner be known for the quality of its hotels. Most of them are old and not very beautiful. In this context, a place like Hotel Gil outstands because of the warm management of her owner, Silvia and also the cleanliness of the hotel. It has amazing views (it's in front of the sea and it has its own...

100m from the main drag meant a quiet night! The public areas are immaculate, the room very clean and comfortable, and the shower hot. The breakfast was very nice. The staff very helpful. We would use the hotel again.

We arrived just before New Years, and at first they couldn't find our reservation - but between our mangled Spanish and their limited English, we managed to figure things out. Our room was comfortable, the beds clean - although the top sheets had a few marks on them. The bathroom was clean, and soap was provided, but no shampoo or...
