Location, Location, and Location in Santiago on lake Atitlan across from base of San Pedro volcano. Immaculate vibrant colourful grounds well maintained. We had a cabin overlooking the lake, with small beach and dock a few steps away. Pool, hot tub, sauna and a Koy pond all encircled by lush vegetation. Restaurant overlooks lake. All in all a great place to stay and great value. Staff very friendly and treat clients well. Kayaks at beach for guests use. Hope to return.
This hotel is a little gem in Santiago. The location is perfect (ask to go directly to the hotel pier if you come by boat), the garden is just amazing and the service the best we had in Central America. The staff is so nice and helpful, everyone. The food is delicious, we spent 3 nights and ate 3x at the hotel: impossible to go away. We enjoyed the kayak, the wood-sauna and the room. We really regret to leave this Eden Garden 😕
We ate at the restaurant, and we love the receptionist Lidia, and the cook Otto, but the food was mediocre and the service was slow. We toured the hotel, thinking we might stay there of future trips, but the rooms were small and tight, the ground somewhat overgrown and the paths poorly lighted. In addition, the at the entrance of the road there is about a 20' stretch of loose pumice to be crossed. We removed it form out list of possible future places to stay
This review goes for the restaurant only. All food dishes (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and drinks are delicious, fare prices, nice portions and the lake view will make your stay at this restaurant an unforgettable moment. Awesome atmosphere peaceful place! Is worth it, highly recommended so go for it!.
Really stay here if you get a chance. On the shore of Lake Atitlan, just out of Santiago, the Eco Bambu has it all, comfortable cabins, beautiful landscaping, great restaurant with delicious food, and a view of Volcan San Pedro that can't be beat. Our only regret was we only had two nights to stay there. We will be back.
The food and service at this restaurant were fabulous. Beautiful property with gardens over-looking the lake. After our lunch there, we are planning to stay at this hotel the next time that we are in Santiago.
The cabins were nice though not extravagant. The grounds were fabulous for birds and flowers. The meals were delicious with a lot of local flavor. We were on a birding adventure and this was a marvelous place to stay and take day trips from.
Hotel Bambú is conveniently located on the South side of the lake, making for a short more simple, and beautiful drive from the city or Antigua. The garden, birds, butterfly’s, and breeze create an incredibly relaxing atmosphere on the lake. Volcano views, while not as stunning as from the north side are always incredible and the quality and ambiance more than make up for this one tiny downside. All this said, the kind and helpful staff may be the best part.

Our whole group loved the food and they even reopened the kitchen for us for desert. Great service and view of the lake. If you’re in Santiago make sure you eat here. Quiet and intimate. Gracias! Also please come to our festival Cosmic Convergence Festival for New Years.
