We have stayed at Utz Jay several times, but have never written a review. They are in the process of updating some of the rooms, adding more, and adding a new laundry room. We have been in three different rooms on different trips, and all...More
We had a triple room here, next to the reception. Nice two story room, good beds, even tv, and good shower! Breakfast was good, the free coffee a plus. Maybe the reception service was not so personal, but for the rest, a good choice.

The people at this hotel are very nice. If you would like the dogs put somewhere else, I'm sure they would respect that. I even forgot that they had dogs until you mentioned it. They were no problem for me, but if they were, I'm sure the staff would do whatever they could to make your stay there comfortable. I hope you don't miss a nice place to stay. I do recommend you ask for an upper room with a balcony. I can't remember my room number but the porch was lovely and so was my stay there. The most comfortable bed I had in Guatamala.
