Rooms adequate but well overpriced. Breakfast is so so. Really bad coffee ( they grow good coffee from Panama until the us though). No help from staff in regard to transport to anywhere else like the market town. Got told we are full which was...More
Four of us blindly booked a stay at Hotel Utz Jay when our plans to visit Antigua were cancelled by an erupting volcano. We loved the Hotel. The service was friendly and our rooms could not have been better. In fact we had booked another...More
LAX Tour Agency did a wonderful job to get this hotel to fit my specifications for the lake tour. I told them that I like a small boutique hotel with characters and the price range is from "medium budget to low end". I got it....More
The location is great, just a few steps from Calle Santander and Lake Atitlan. In general, a nice hotel, I am not giving 5 stars because one of the reasons I chose this place was for the Jacuzzi, which was not working the day I...More

The people at this hotel are very nice. If you would like the dogs put somewhere else, I'm sure they would respect that. I even forgot that they had dogs until you mentioned it. They were no problem for me, but if they were, I'm sure the staff would do whatever they could to make your stay there comfortable. I hope you don't miss a nice place to stay. I do recommend you ask for an upper room with a balcony. I can't remember my room number but the porch was lovely and so was my stay there. The most comfortable bed I had in Guatamala.

Are you departing from the airport? If so, you can get a shuttle to either Antigua or Panajachel there. Once you leave Customs, the shuttle booth is to your left before you leave the terminal. A shuttle to Antigua usually costs $8-$12.
I am guessing that one to Pana is maybe double that price. I usually got from Antigua to Pana. A shuttle from there is usually $7.
Hope this helps?
My favorite place to stay in Pana is Hotel Utz Hay. My favorite restaurant is Guajimbo;s Uruguayan Grill.
