First, I must start by saying that I really, really wish I could give this place 5 stars, but there are a few misses which make me dock them 1. The Pros: This is an absolutely stunning property. The botanic gardens, the lake views from every angle of the hotel and the restaurant are just beyond breathtaking. This is the...

This lovely hotel is sit instead on its own bay a 5 min 20Q tuk-tuk ride from downtown panajachel, close enough to be very convenient but far from the noise and traffic. If you wanted to walk it it would be 20 min with some steep slopes, traffic and no sidewalk. The hotel is beautiful , well kept with colonial...

I had no idea Lago de Atitlan would be so magnificent and I had no idea the Hotel Atitlan would be such a botanical garden. The rooms were spacious and the patios all look onto a magnificent view. I loved the gardens and the birds that were present on the little trails all over the estate. Even the restaurant, which...

What a beautiful hotel! Well worth the money spent. The room opened to the garden, was quiet, very clean. The service was exemplary! The meal in the restaurant provided a wide selection and was tasty. Although off the beaten track, it's a great place to get away and enjoy the magnificient views of the volcanoes and the waterfront and the...

This is an incredible hotel with amazing views & gardens with parrots!! The reason, I didn't rate it a 5 star was the lack of air conditioning or fans in the rooms. Even a stationary floor fan in this beautiful hotel would have made our stay more comfortable. Its difficult to understand with so much effort spent on decor, the...

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at. Incredible gardens with over 1000 plantings. Hotel common areas and rooms furnished with folk art and antiques. Very helpful staff and great food. The best part was the amazing view of Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes (from the heated pool or hot jacuzzi). Lucky to meet the owner, a...

As stated in the review of the gardens, it is a serene place with every room a view of the lake. Staff are warm and frienfky. Owner is an expat from Texas! Gardens and birds are amazing. The food at the restaurant is ok.

This hotel is beautiful but the rooms are pretty run down. The mattress was very old, no A/C, dim lighting, outdated bathroom. The restaurant and pool area are amazing but the jacuzzi closes at 6pm. We are glad we got the chance to see this hotel but we're surprised that the rooms weren't nicer given how well kept the rest...
