This hotel used to have one of the best coffees in town, now it is terrible, so sad when the coffee is bad, specially in a country that grows good coffee! With a business group we have breakfast there once a month.
Loved my stay here. The breakfast buffet was great! The variety of juices and items offered were American and locally authentic. Front desk was nice and spoke English. They did print a few pages for me without an issue. In my room I wasn’t able to hear traffic or the very loud nightclub across the street. I didn’t use any of the great amenities, but the pool and gym looked great. My co-workers raved about all of them.
Friendly and courteous service from the lobby security throughout the hotel. Upon checking you in, Luis offers a warm smile and suggestions during your stay. The restaurant staff are attentive, friendly and treat you with kindness. Javier and staff are extraordinary. On the 9th Fl lounge area, Daniel makes everything glamorous and is attentive to your needs. Love staying in this hotel where I am treated like family. I highly recommend it to all my friends visiting Guatemala.
After having a negative experience trying to book with Hilton Guatemala City, we decided to call Westin Camino Real. Our experience was very positive from the moment making the reservation up until we left the hotel. We stayed two weeks and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. Everyone was courteous and attentive. The hotel is beautiful and extremely clean. The location is perfect as it's in a safe and beautiful part of the city. There are shops and many restaurants you can safely walk to. This was important to us because we traveled with our three young children. I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable!
Recently stayed at this hotel, very bad experience, (definitely not 4 or not even 5 star ) i was stayed here pre-pandemic (numerous times service was ok). This stay was disappointing they don't speak English only a few, and does not have enough staff. I came to the bar to ask for something to drink and food and it took a while, so I decided to go to the pool, the very kind waitress told me that she would take the food to me as she is a few steps away, but after 45 minutes I had to go see what happens, not only do they have no staff, not speak English and I have to use my friend to translate, she was talking with the boyfriend and when I ask about my food she tells me that I have to wait , my food arrived cold and the attention was very very bad.
Not a bad hotel. However, due to pandemic service we’re not offered like lounge. Breakfast was ok not the best that I have had it before at another Westin hotels. Halal was not offered at all around Guatemala, atleast I couldn find it. It’s get very dark at night if you are willing to walk around the hotel. I would recommend Uber.
Overall, disappointed. Staff was ok, but definitely not 4 or 5 star. Nobody went out of there way to be helpful, had to wait frequently for pool service. Very few English language TV channels available. Wifi was slow & inconsistent & had zero security. Breakfast buffet was uninspiring. Jacuzzi was only Luke warm & jets were infrequent.
The front desk staff were great. The staff overall, frankly, is great and very helpful. From the Great Ana María at the front desk ( and all her great colleagues that helped us) to the porteros snd servers at breakfast. The cleaning service was exceptional, they really went out of their way. This is a bustling hotel in the middle of a fashionable area with key shopping and restaurant scene and nightlife, even during a pandemic. There is a big casino also in the hotel. These are high end restaurants and clubs in this area with many other hotels including the Intercontinental across the street. It was close to main sites only like 10-15 mins away to Palacio Verde. Day travel to Pacaya. The breakfasts here were pretty good. I enjoyed them especially the pupusas in the AM. It was very solid breakfast included for Bonvoy status folks. You are also not far from Plaza Berlin which is worth a stop on way out. As well as the artisanal outdoor area on way to airport. There is also a good running path just in front of the hotel for runners. I went out twice. It runs along the main Avenida and has many runners. They also have tennis courts ( that could use a little renovation but cool they have one). There us a super nice gym and spa also. Like big and quite new.…
Enjoyed my stay here even so much I returned after trying to stay in an Airbnb but it didn’t have working AC. The rooms could use updating. I loved the gym and the breakfast buffet was great with nice service. The gym is state of art so if you love exercising take advantage of it if you can. You have some great options to eat within a 6 block walking radius.
Recently stayed at this hotel. Always stayed here pre-pandemic (numerous times - service was excellent). This stay was disappointing. In typical pandemic fashion management put all the guests in a block of floors or areas. No upgrades available (was told at desk "it is management discretion to upgrade elites or not and we are not offering upgrades!") Room I was given was tired and worn (hallway carpet had many stains, room furniture was old and very used. Room had no clock, coffee maker, etc., just the basics! AC sputtered air. I was totally disappointed especially given all the previous excellent stays I had at this hotel. I changed to the Intercontinental and had a much better experiences.
