We travel as a couple and we have been to CCL eleven times in eleven years. Need I say more? As one would expect, we have returned to changed circumstances during such a period if time. And yet, this is the one place in the world where we have been lucky enough to experience the same magic again, and again,...

Chan Chich is hard to believe - how they built such a gorgeous and luxurious atmosphere with thatched roof cabañas and delicious restaurant is beyond me. I mean, the place is literally in the middle of the jungle! The service was excellent, with the best local wildlife guides I've ever experienced. Yes, Chan Chich has it all, but what you'll...

This was the final stay of our 9-night Belize birding tour. With all the lavish gardens and mowed lawns it was sometimes hard to realize we were right on the main plaza of a Mayan ruin. But trails led from the plaza to viewpoints atop other ancient structures, to prime birding spots deep in the rain forest, and even (for...

Five nights in this wonderfully accessible lodge in the midst of Mayan ruins was fabulous. The entire staff - groundskeepers to manager - are incredibly friendly and interested that one is having a great time. The food (apparently via a new chef) is excellent. Our cottage #1 was lovely and I would definitely stay there again. Walking sticks are available...

We have just returned from a two week trip around Yucatan and Belize.Without doubt the highlight of our trip was three days spent in the Chan Chich Lodge. The accommodation was superb with double showers and beautifully appointed bathroom.Everything was spotlessly clean. We wondered if there would be a problem with mosquitos but were completely free of them. The staff cannot...

Chan Chich Lodge is a special paradise. The grounds are set in the midst of ancient ruins and are filled with flowering trees and the sight of many colourful birds. I could easily have just sat on the balcony of the main lodge all day and just watched the parade of bird and animal life in front of me. There...

The remote location of this lovely thatched lodge was fantastic with colourful gardens of tropical flowers and exotic birds a plenty. Our room was lovely with, unexpectedly, twin basins the bathroom and even towelling robes, yet a hairdryer was for some mystifying reason not there, although one was readily provided when I asked. The guides and drivers were excellent and...

Chan Chich is outstanding in so many ways, especially regarding its wildlife! We've joined various activities with the four, very experienced guides of the lodge and it could not have been better. We saw tons of birds, surprisingly many mammals (close!), even including an Ocelot! The staff was very welcoming and polite, the rooms are simple but beautiful and clean.

This lodge is in a very beautiful setting in the plaza of unexcavated Mayan ruins surrounded by thousands of acres of protected forest. The grounds are immaculately maintained. They support many, many species of birds as well as Spider monkeys and occasional Howler monkeys. The cabanas are very clean, private and open to the sights and sounds of the forest...

We spent 2 nights at Chan Chich at the start of our honeymoon in Belize. We were kindly upgraded to a better cabana and overall arrangements were very smoothly handled. Guides were professional and knowledgeable and staff were friendly and personable. Food is tasty, if a little expensive, but all dietary requirements are well accommodated and portions are large. Saw...
