The hotel was totally fine. Clean; friendly staff; lovely pool. The pool was crowded on the weekend but very quiet during the week. You will need to take a $10 Belize dollars taxi ride to downtown for shopping and restaurants
My friends and I arrived at Rumors to use their pool, however we found ourselves ordering food and it was delicious. The service we got from the waiter/bartender that were by the pool was excellent. The pool has a great view that you can swim...More
I was a little disappointed by our room. It needed some TLC. The ceiling had multiple rips in the ceiling. We had the basic room, which meant no kitchenette and no coffee maker. The room smelled like gas because there’s no p-traps in the plumbing....More

Hello! We live in Guatemala and drove to Belize so we booked everything directly with the hotels I researched... There should not be any problems for you to book a rental car at the airport and then contact the hotels directly. Nothing is more than a couple of hours away. That way you can leave the car before you head to San Pedro or to Caye Caulker (San Pedro is more resort/adult and Caulker more chill/young crowd, I'd say...). We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in Hopkins and the excursions in San Ignacio a lot but the snorkeling from San Pedro was also great.
