Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If I could leave it zero stars I would. I’ve been in jails nicer than this place. Idk wtf they’ve remodeled, the place is a complete shi!t hole! You’re better of catching a nap on the sidewalk and shower at the waste water treatment plant.

Ramada name but not Ramada standard. Whoever gave this hotel a 3 Star rating must have walked around with a bag on their head, I have experienced better standards on operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. From the reception area to the rooms show signs of neglect and disrepair with falling plaster and exposed electrical cabling. The outside areas don’t deem any fairer added to the stench of rotting seaweed and debris washed up under the associated Calypso bar and grill. The breakfast bar food would not be worthy for even a dog and the staff were rude with the attitude they didn’t want to be there. Is there a saving grace…yes don’t book, leave this hotel well alone!

The amenities are awesome, including a bar, seaside restaurant, free breakfast bar, beauty salon, casino, movie theatre (closed for renovations), lounges, pool, etc. Once you get past the ground floor, however, things degrade: there's garbage on the lower roof, the walkways to the rooms seem stable but they sag, broken tiles everywhere, and my single king room is as basic as they come (nice ocean view, though). That said, the staff have proven quite good thus far and room service is (usually) pleasant and the food is very good. If only Wyndham spent like they do for, say, US hotels ...

This Ramada was terrible, felt dirty, the bathtub had mold all around it, the water facet leaked, the sheets did not cover the mattress so the mattress was exposed. Did not eat the free breakfast, everything looked unsanitary. Find another place in Belize City if you have to stay a night there.

The one time I didn't read the reviews, lesson learned. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER STAY HERE. IT IS 30 MINUTES FROM THE AIRPORT $30 USD PER PERSON CHARGE TO GET THERE BY SHUTTLE I wish the Wyndham would catch wind of how bad this hotel is. This hotel is a health hazard to the guest and staff that enter into this building. Mold is everywhere in the rooms, hallways, dinning area, pool and etc. It is falling apart. The sheets were dirt and full of crumbs. There is no hot water , it is just warm. I would rather stay in an old Mennonite home before staying at this hotel. I feel bad for the staff because jobs are limited so they think this is the best they can do. Staff you are really nice and you deserve to work elsewhere.

This hotel has a bar, restaurants, hair dresser and casino all under one roof. However the building is in desperate need of renovations and not up to the same standards as Ramada’s in the United States and Canada. The leaks and water damage make for an overpowering musty smell. We left the building to eat dinner due to this. Front desk staff super helpful! .Casino staff super friendly and helpful! Movie theatre staff were also friendly and helpful and super quick service. I was hoping to get fit in the last hour at the salon for a pedicure and it was completely empty but the young girl working wouldn’t even consider it she was busy on her cell phone. It’s completely under stable maybe end of day duties take awhile but she didn’t even explain or really care. Our room was nice amd clean , smelt nice amd had a view of the ocean!

I've seen sewers and bombed-out hotels in Baghdad in better condition than this place. After all, who doesn't like a good light show of sparks from extension cords as a result of water dripping from the refrigerator? For $185 USD/night we weren't expecting much and who doesn't mind a thick layer of dust all over the furniture, a fan that didn't work, broken lights, stains on the sheets, and a few random boogers on the couch and tables. As for the "continental breakfast", eat elsewhere and save yourself 24 hours of praying to the porcelain god. For those of you who love adventure, rolling the dice, taking chances, dodging a falling ceiling like you're Indiana Jones or the Goonies, and a guaranteed case of tetanus, make sure you get a workout in at the world-class gym. THIS hotel is considered a Belize "GOLD STANDARD" accommodation and if this is a GOLD STANDARD accommodation, then what is bronze level? The hotel draws into question Belize's GOLD STANDARD for the tourist industry. We stayed for one of the original six reserved nights and promptly checked out. See our photos for what $185 USD/night in Belize City at this Ramada gets you. The photos provided by the hotel are almost a decade old and need to be updated.

I would like to preface that I read the reviews for this hotel before booking it. My husband and I typically see bad reviews but we usually give whatever it is the benefit of the doubt and we always have a different positive experience. This was not the case. This hotel lived up to its reviews. This hotel is poorly maintained from top to bottom. As soon as we got there, the outside alone was displeasing as we saw parts of the wall crumbling and rats outside where we parked. Check in was pretty easy and the staff was able to upgrade our room. As we went to our room, the hallways are dirty. More parts of the walls are falling apart. There is also a random room that's open on our floor with dirty mattresses. There are exposed wires as well. In our room, we fell in love with the view. That was a positive. It looked right on the ocean and the morning light was amazing. However, the bathtub was dirty and the faucets were moldy. There were some brown spots on our mattress that we were not sure what they were. We decided to try the gym. Part of the ceiling is missing, there is an odd smell lingering in there and about half the machines are broken or held together by duct tape. We went to the pool which seemed really nice, as a mouse ran past us down the hallway to the pool. The floor of the pool itself was slippery and that's when we notice the mildew on the floor in between the tiles. Breakfast was free and traditional, which was a plus. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.

We had to convince ourselves that we were not going to get sick eating at the restaurant on site, the restaurant did NOT even look clean. Thank God that they were out of fish for the fish & chips items that was on the menu. We ended up eating the snacks we brought on our trip for dinner that night, while making plans to stay at another hotel for the rest of our vacation.

Staying here is like playing Russian Roulette or preparing for Hell! This place is the epitome of a hole in the wall. False advertisement!! There was an electrical fire in my room from AC outlet. This occurred in the early morning hours around 2:30AM. Woke up to popping and sparks and flames. The smoke detector didn't even go off. In all 3 rooms I stayed in, none of the dectctors were operational. I had to run downstairs to alert staff. There was no urgency by staff . I have PTSD now!! Room was changed twice after that. By the pool bar area, the bar is falling a part. Hole in the ceiling with black mold on sheetrock. Broken tile on floors 4 and 5. Rusted cart. Toilet doesn't work. Safes in some rooms were not operational Breakfast- Prisoners eat better food than what they serve on a daily basis. Pool is only cleaned 3x a week. I didnt go in. Afraid of developing a rash. Very limited seating. Can't accomodate 20 people. Broken flooring near pool Place is a health and fire hazard I requested a refund and haven't received anything yet.
