We just returned from a week at Isla Marisol and had a fantastic time! So, here's the summary... Activities: Awesome, like extremely freaking awesome. Scuba Diving was top notch, and Eddie's teaching of the Discover Scuba course was one of the best that I've ever attended - totally focused on safety and great with the divers that needed a little...

Isla Marisol is a great resort on a tropical island on the edge of an atoll, it is secluded and stunningly beautiful. It is NOT a Sandals style resort with hundreds of rooms, 5 star cooking, accommodations, and bathrooms. Having said that they have done an amazing job considering they're 20 miles off the coast of Belize in the middle...

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Isla Marisol, and overall, it was a wonderful trip. I'll start off with the reasons why Isla Marisol didn't get five stars from me. Initially when we got to our room, I'll admit it... I was a bit disappointed with the accommodations. I guess I was picturing something more glamorous. I didn't...

First off I would like to say that no matter what other reviews say ... I, personally, LOVED the time I spent on Isla Marisol. My friend Kelly and I went on a "girls-trip" to Isla Marisol on April 21st to 28th. We are from Canada so the flights were pretty unpredictable (keep this in mind if you plan on...

My friend and I spent a week here in April and I almost had to drag her back on the boat to go home. Our adventure getting there was a bit stressful. Our flight from Carolina was late getting into Belize city, resulting in our missing our flight to Dangriga and only getting there just before the boat was set...

You won't see any complaints here! I have to say that the guy with the review entitled 'Fairy Tale Wedding & the Honest Truth about the Resort' is exactly spot-on in his review, and that the negative reviews dated 2005 and 2008 are waaaayyy out of date and do not accurately reflect even close to the experience my husband and...

My brother, my son and I spent a week at Isla Marisol last month and had a fantastic time. I don't know of anything I'd change (except perhaps the long trip to get there from where I live). I would just add one comment about the bugs - we had almost no bug bites the whole week on the island,...

It is easy to feel like your in Paradise when on the Isle of Marisol. My wife and I went there on April 7th for our thirtieth anniversary. Paradise is a frame of mind and Isle Marisol would not be a paradise for everyone and some will never find paradise on this earth, but we found our paradise for a...

Even with Jerry's typos...all he said is true. My husband and I were with him. The travel time was long enough without being dropped at the local hotel for three hours while Eddie did his errands. We arrived at the island in the dark (no lights to the Reef House) pulling our luggage through the sand to find the house...

Dear Guest, First off, As the manager of Isla Marisol Resort in no way was I trying to bribe you with a dive to compensate your travels to the Resort. Our Captain was instructed to change boat on his way in to pick you up from Dangriga and was instructed on his way out to change boat at Fantasy Island...

My wife, 17 yr. old son and i just completed a week at Isla Marisol on Glovers Reef. The staff where fantastic and the food was equally great(Ezra in the kitchen was magnificent, she made incredible food). Our accommodation was perfect for the setting - cabana with 2 queen beds and bathroom plus hammock on the porch, 2 deck chairs...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private en-suite bathrooms, fresh water showers, hot and cold water, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service. Isla Marisol Resort also offers frosty cold libations at our infamous "over the water" bar and phenomenal Belizean style food in our dining room. Incredible watersports are just a stone's throw from the resort, with most diving and snorkeling sites just 5-15 minutes from the island. All ages and experience welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with World class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at our door step. Daily deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily. ... more   less
