Visited Isla Marisol Resort this past weekend (Columbus day 2015) and had one of the best weeks of my life. Our amazing host Eddie and his family welcomed us to his island resort & home, and made our group of 8 feel as though it was our home as well. The whole place is phenomenal, and we were very impressed...

We expected a rustic location and were adventurously game for the potential accommodations of a diving/fly fishing resort. What we got was clean, well-maintained and very comfortable; outstanding food; kind and incredibly hospitable service; exceptional diving; and #1: we were UNPLUGGED (except for emergencies) from the rest of the world!!! Heavenly!!! I've read it here before: you want the luxuries...

For my kids to turn around and say thanks it was their best holiday ever my husband and I knew we'd given them that special once in a life time experience. They all ( ages 12 and 14 and 50) completed their paddies and were under the watchful eyes of mora and some very experienced charming divers from around the...

We bookedd this trip for our family of 4. Good friends of ours decited to join us for a total of 8. On every vacation we taken I have had to watch my kids (12 and 14) like a hawk. Eddie's island is amazing, small, and totally safe. I felt comfortable letting all 4 of the kids run around on...

I came here with my family for a week and I would go again in a heartbeat. Not only is the island gorgeous, Ms Gen's cooking is delicious and the diving was amazing. We all finished our PADI certifications on site and had great experiences. Eddie and Mora were great dive instructors and we all, my parents, my sisters (including...

My husband and I chose Isla Marisol as the site for our belated honeymoon based on its TripAdvisor reviews and for its highly touted scuba diving (my husband has been certified for years, whereas I got certified mere days before we departed for Belize). It was definitely more remote than we -- okay, just I -- expected, but that turned...

Divers not required to show dive certifications, just say you are. No briefing on boat orientation, location of safety equipment, buddy system, safety stops, no oxygen on board. Dive instructor rode a large turtle on 1st dive, horrible. Dive staff does not carry safety sausages or signaling equipment. On several dives, motors left in gear and props spinning while divers...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private en-suite bathrooms, fresh water showers, hot and cold water, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service. Isla Marisol Resort also offers frosty cold libations at our infamous "over the water" bar and phenomenal Belizean style food in our dining room. Incredible watersports are just a stone's throw from the resort, with most diving and snorkeling sites just 5-15 minutes from the island. All ages and experience welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with World class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at our door step. Daily deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily. ... more   less
