This was my second time at Marisol. Not much has changed. Still the same staff and still the same dive guide and boat operators. Mr. Willis who is part owner in the resort leads by example. All employed are there to help its customers the best they can. The Dive Guide Mora, is both watchful and helpful. The food made...

My friend and I got an amazing deal on Groupon and stayed here for a week in June. It was amazing! We got PADI dive certified while we were there and it was really high quality, personalized instruction. The dives were spectacular and diverse. We saw sharks (friendly nurse sharks), turtles, and more. The dive masters were attentive and the...

We visited Isla Marisol for a week in April 2016. It was a perfect week! If you want to get away from it all on a tropical island, this is just the place! The island is surrounded by turquoise water and pristine reefs. Incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We loved going out snorkeling every morning and then returning to our cabana...

Going on a "Do it Yourself" bonefish trip has been on my bucket list for a very long time, and this year I finally got to do it. After a fair bit of research I settled on Isla Marisol at Glovers Reef. It would be hard for me to imagine a better decision. From all the conversations with Martha in...

Isla Marisol is so beautiful. So quiet. The water has all the Caribbean colors you can imagine. The diving is spectacular. The staff are friendly and work hard to make your vacation the best it can be. Be prepared to give up some conveniences and amenities for this scenic paradise. The air conditioning is hit and miss. There is no...

Hi, We appreciate you for taking time to review Isla Marisol Resort. You are correct when you mention that sometimes "conveniences and amenities" folks are accustomed to in the U.S. are unavailable at Isla Marisol Resort. We do not have a swimming pool nor a spa, we have occasional mechanical issues with the A/C units (all which are new, having...

My wife and I just got back from a week at Marisol, and our trip was nothing short of amazing! The staff was very welcoming and extremely accommodating. I am not one to write reviews (in fact this is my first), but we had such a great time I felt compelled. Every day on the island seems to better than...

Our last visit was Nov 2009 and I marked in my dive book we needed to return for the whale sharks. Not much has changed in the time we were away (and that is a good thing!) except they now have internet (fast enough to get emails). The island is 36 miles from the mainland so it is a boat...

My Wife and I had so much fun at Isla Marisol. The staff was excellent; the water beautiful; and the food was great! We've traveled to quite a few tropical destinations and this one topped them all. The snorkeling is just insane! Words or photos can't do it justice.

My husband, two adult daughters and I recently spent an incredible week at Isla Marisol. The island is about an hour and a half boat ride from Dangriga so if you have a tendency toward sea sickness (as I do) I would bring some non-drowsy Dramamine or acupressure sea bands to wear on your wrists. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private en-suite bathrooms, fresh water showers, hot and cold water, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service. Isla Marisol Resort also offers frosty cold libations at our infamous "over the water" bar and phenomenal Belizean style food in our dining room. Incredible watersports are just a stone's throw from the resort, with most diving and snorkeling sites just 5-15 minutes from the island. All ages and experience welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with World class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at our door step. Daily deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily. ... more   less
