Couldn't adjust the A/C temperature or ceiling fan speed so the room was fairly hot. Room was very plain but clean and staff was friendly. It is centrally located near the ferry and center of town. Price was decent.

We stayed in the "condo" on the back street behind the single rooms. Two bedrooms, 1 bath. A decent place but only a small view of the water. Had a full kitchen with drinking water furnished. Had no wall decorations whatsoever so it was kinda bland. It was on the 3rd floor s

The shower head needs to be replaced. The private room I stayed in was really small which is fine for a solo traveler looking to spend a few days on the island and not looking to spend much. The room is clean and bug free which is a big plus. No tv or a.c.. The window has a scree

Let me start out by saying I LOVED Caye Caulker. But, this isn't a review of Caye Caulker, it's a review of De Real Macaw. First of all, the location is good. It's right in the middle of the area with all of the businesses. Although, you're just a few minutes walk from everything

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. The hotel is now under new management, and we are making upgrades to the rooms. We also have a range of rooms, all of which have more amenities and space than the budget room you stayed in. Should you ever wish to stay with us again, we suggest checking out some of the other rooms as well.

We stayed in the treehouse room, a second story small room with a delightful porch for sitting (or laying in the hammock), having a Belikin, and watching the people on the street, the ocean, or just enjoying the breeze.

I am taking a trip to Caye Caulker and staying in the single room in the back of De Real Macaw. My only concern is that it doesn't look very secure. Does the room have functioning, secure locks?
We were in the lower cabana right next to that room and it had a padlock on the door.

Are you pet friendly? I have 9 pound dog.

Is there an airport shuttle? Or do you offer water taxi service?
How far is this from Ocean Academy where I will be working? Are there any special rates for volunteer teacher's staying 2 or 3 months?
I would email the hotel directly for those answers as I was just a guest there for a few great days.

Hello De Real Macaw, Two questions 1. How are the noise levels at night? I am looking for restful evenings to get a good night sleep. Not looking to "party hard." 2. I see there is a very cheap room option for a single bed room (a twin bed). What does this room come with? Bathroom? Shower? Etc.
Once the artist across the street with the Bob Marley music shuts down for the night it's quiet...until he opens again in the am. So, quiet from 10pm to 9am give or take.

"The treehouse room sleeps up to three, and was a nice getaway after a long day."
"Rooms at the back are likely a bit quieter."
"It is close to the "street" with a lot of action in the evening."
"Choose a central room away from the road and neighboring dogs."
"We stayed in room 1. It is along the front, cool and comfortable. Street noise wasn't a problem. It quiets down around 9 or so there."
