The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Tristian and Tony were both very helpful with both dinner and tour reservations. Our 2 bedroom ocean view villa was perfect for us. Food at the resort was very good. We had no complaints and will definitely return!

Hotel's Favourite
Totally different from our typical large resort vacation, we absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Reef Villas! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet location with excellent service by amazing staff. Our family of 5 stayed here for our first time visiting Belize. Husband and I plus our 3 active teen daughters (17-18-19). We booked the “garden view” 3-bedroom/3-bath suite with a few weeks notice. I can see how the ocean view rooms would be amazing, but you can still see the ocean and pier from #24. Our 3 daughters shared the Master Suite on the top floor. They loved the seclusion up there, the room was very spacious, double sink bathroom, separate walk in shower and their own jacuzzi tub. They were like princesses in the tower. The rest of the suite was very well appointed- a/c was strong, fans in every room, spacious living room and dining area, full kitchen with good selection of cooking utensils. Knowing that we were visiting during “Green” season we planned for some rainy days/evenings to cook in and hang out in our suite. Plus we enjoy late-night munchies- having a kitchen is a priority. PRV is a couple miles south of town. Strongly recommend that you rent a golf cart if you stay here! It looks so close to town on the map but it’s a good 15 minute golf cart ride to get into town. The first half mile or so is on a dirt road with lots of potholes— the streets in town are cobblestones. At night it does get dark on the dirt road but you can’t get lost— it’s just one road in/out. After a few days, our daughters felt safe enough to take the cart into town on their own. Besides going into town for dinners or shopping, all of our excursion pickups were directly from our doorstep or pier, even our golf cart rental was dropped off/picked up from PRV. So convenient! Sunbathing on the pier was so serene. You can take a dip in the water from there, snorkel, use one of the resorts (free) kayaks or paddle boards. Also… the staff will bring your drinks and food out there! The beach is just as nice and peaceful too. I do recommend getting a massage on the beach! Note this not a walk up/swimmable beach— to get in the water you need to go to the end of the pier which is apparently typical for the entire island. We enjoyed the small infinity pool and swim up bar as well. So you get the jist— it’s a small resort with all the features of a big luxury property but with a more local, chill, friendly vibe. But the main reason for this 5-star review is the service and staff! Tristian is awesome with his email correspondence during the planning. Tristian, Tony and Cindy provided top notch concierge services— they provided great recommendations, we simply told them what we wanted to do and they took care of all the bookings for excursions and dinner reservations. Enrique is amazing! Eli, Byron and Steve were also all super friendly. Attentive service at the bar, poolside, and for breakfast/lunch too… great conversations, yummy cocktails, all of them went out of their way to make our stay memorable! Thank you PRV! We can attest to why you’re rated #1! We will absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: Golf cart rental is a must! The bug/mosquito spray they provide works wonders. Stop by the bar...

The entire staff at Pelican Reef Villas Resort were exemplary. They were beyond accommodating and helpful. The pool, with a Caribbean Sea view was sparkling and refreshing. The breakfast that was included was delicious and drinks were superior too. All of our tours, our golf cart, local airline, dinner reservations and rides were arranged through the hotel with flawless detail.

Starting with the reservation process all the way to meeting us at the water taxi, the welcome- Blanca, Cindy and Tristan excellent customer service. Due to location you must rent a golf cart and be prepared for your aerobics when traveling from the south end to the center of the island. Beautiful property.

We arrived to a fresh welcome cocktail - which was very nice. The initial instructions/welcome brief was a little overwhelming - lot of rules that everyone had to sign/agree to. Probably should do this first, and then the drink. The 2 don't go hand and hand. :) Didn't help that our cart provider showed up at the same time and wanted to review instructions/paper work right then as well. The accommodation was very nice, though the master suite area had a few issues. Don't count on any privacy if you get our master suite. The bedroom is totally open to the restroom/shower. Not sure how I missed this in the photos. And our windows had a pretty bad tinting that was all bubbled and made the view of the ocean front not very good - from the master suite. All other views were great. Our windows in the rooms also leaked when it rained, but now a huge deal to us. The staff was great. Always very helpful. The breakfast was perfect as for taste. The flies were pretty annoying in the breakfast area though. Was hard to relax and eat with flies swarming our food. Not sure what can be done with this. Perhaps more fans. Location was okay. The ride to town was quite an adventure on the golf cart. Gets a bit rough. Would stay closer if you want to avoid this. Overall - nice resort. You get the condo space, with some of the resort amenities.

This is a beautiful property. We stay here for 7 days and are so happy we did. The rooms are spacious, clean, and filled with amenities (safe, laundry, real full kitchen) to allow you flexibility during your stay. The staff are very helpful and kind without being overbearing. We enjoyed the daily breakfast - a good menu of ordering options that they would even bring up to our room. We tended to take advantage of the kitchen to cook lunch for ourselves and then head out for dinner (strong recs for Elvie's, Truck stop, and Caliente). The staff at Pelican Reef made it easy for us to rent a golf cart for the week and had a lot of trustworthy restaurant recommendations. We had a great view from our room, which made us inclined to enjoy a few more meals in than we had anticipated. You can see a variety of fish of off the dock for some quick snorkeling. We also took advantage of the kayak and paddleboarding. The water is very clear and the seaweed smell is not as bad as other locations on the island. There are a lot of mosquitos, so bring your bug spray. We did a scuba diving course and loved that they could pick us up from the dock each morning. Having explored around the island a little, I really appreciate how Pelican Reef is far away from the bustle of the town bust still has such high quality service and facilities. One small recommendation for improvement - it would be wonderful to have a few basic cooking supplies (oil, salt and pepper, ect) to make it easier to take advantage of the kitchen.
