Irvin is the best bartender! He was so cheerful and happy to give our drinks. He makes a flawless pina colada. He made our experience at the private beach absolutely amazing. Dwayne assisted with all our rental needs and set us up in the perfect spot on the beach. Great views, great people, great drinks. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel. Ask for Irvin and Dwayne.
My husband and I went to Mahogany Bay with another couple for a week for a diving vacation. The two guys were divers and the two women were snorkelers, and this vacation was perfect for all of us. We all opted for the "Romance Package" add on which included the hopper flight from Belize City to San Pedro, transportation to the resort, a couples massage, and a full day reservation of a over water cabana at their private beach club. We all felt it was worth the extra money. The bonus was that we were greeted by a sweet woman in Belize City who guided us through the chaos of the airport, helped us exchange tickets to an earlier flight, and made sure we knew how to find our taxi driver to the hotel. It could not have been more stress free. Everyone working at the resort was friendly and competent. Every waiter, bartender, housekeeper, driver, amazing. We kept exclaiming that the people were top notch. The resort itself was beautiful and clean. It is not really on a beach or overlooking beautiful water, but it has a huge bonus in that there is a boat that takes you for a 15 minute boat ride to GORGOUS private beach club that belongs to the resort. It has a restaurant, hammocks, chairs, bar, everything you could want. They make you feel pretty special there. I did see a few kids there, but this place does not particularly cater to children...no special kids activities that I noticed. However, there is a very nice pool at the main hotel. The food and cocktails also did not disappoint with a two for one happy hour at 5:00.…
This place lived up to the hype. They started wowing me before I even arrived by upgrading my room as a gold member. We went for my girl friends birthday and to both of our surprise their was a small piece of birthday cake awaiting in the refrigerator. I put in the notes that the birthday girl was traveling with me and they delivered! The welcome drink great! The staff great! The pool great! The dining great! And the private beach was EVERYTHING! They have separate eateries on the grounds as well. Did I mention the 1980’s themed barcade with old school arcade games? Too fun! If you don’t feel that your staying at the best place on the island I don’t know what to tell you.
Lovely village setup. Cabins were great, staff was exceptional, food is delicious and overall it’s the best San Pedro offers. The private beach is out-of-this-world beautiful. Be sure to see Miguel at the main house restaurant for exceptional service!
One of the few places to stay with a resort feel. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The room does not have a full size mirror and go for the upgraded rooms that have an insulated roof to reduce outdoor noise. Great fresh fruit at breakfast. Surprised at how yummy the dinner was. Gym was clean and had a beautiful view while you workout. The massage at the spa was amazing. Service at the private beach was great. Remember suncreen and big spray as the resort cannot control Mother Nature.
My family and 4 other families were meant to stay at this resort in April 2020, then the pandemic hit. I have been trying to get me $1000+ refund since March 2020, almost 3 years!! I’ve been given the runaround, and as latest as June 2022, was told I would have my refund within days and now, September, the staff is suddenly ghosting me and not responding to my emails. For me, this is evidence of the service we would have gotten if we did end up going. Save your dollars, go elsewhere
Rachel was very personable, pleasant and knowledgeable. She made our stay very enjoyable. She was also very helpful to her peers, which showed she is very dedicated to her job. As far as the front desk, while they were helpful, more assistance is needed as they were not able to tend to the customers in person as well as the phone. The taco stand for breakfast is a must! The private beach is awesome but they need to bring the jalapeño poppers back to that menu!
Stayed here for four days and the service was very good! The front desk was extremely helpful, and the bartenders were amazing! Carlos, Miguel and Daniel helped us during our stay. The rooms were well air conditioned and cozy. We booked all our tours their and they have a great coffee shop
STAY ELSEWHERE- I WILL NOT BE BACK Unfortunately I can not recommend this resort. Some aspects of the resort are nice but some are really lacking. Good things Bar Excursion Shop - Tuff -n - Nuff Wabble is really cool and he is very helpful and accommodating Coffee shop - Rum Bean Rooms are small but nice and quaint. Little noisy because of the tin roofs and no windows. Bad things Location- way on the far south side of the island. No accessible beaches on resort. Beach is 15-20 minute boat ride away. Boat runs every hour from 8-4. Beach is so shallow that you can not really get much deeper then knee deep and the sea lice / sea roaches / sea fleas or what ever you want to call the parasites in the water are so bad that you will get out of the water almost as soon as you get in. The bite you and stick to you like a tick sucking your blood! You have to pull them off and trust me when I tell you that they get every where! I absolutely love beaches and this is the worst beach that I have ever experienced! Staying here for 6 days and will spend less than 30 minutes at their beach! Lots of construction under way. They start working around 6:00 am running saws, banging, hammering, and making all kinds of noise! Resort is pretty dirty, lots of piles of construction junk and trash. They try to hide it but do not do very well at hiding it. Rooms are too far from the bar / restaurants / lobby to walk. You really will need a golf cart. Restaurant food leaves much to be desired. Some of the servers are great and friendly, the others are rude and disinterested in helping you. Some just completely ignore and you have to make the same request multiple time. Very slow service! I’m used to island time as I have spent a fair amount of time in the Caribbean. Slow is okay when a restaurant is busy, but when you are the only one there service should be quick. Food and drinks are WAY over priced compared to local bars and restaurants! Do yourself a favor and eat off resort. Golf carts are way over priced as well. Long review but I wish I had some reviews to go off of before I booked a weeks stay here. There are much better resorts further north with better / clearer / clearer ocean water with accessible beaches…
Had a wonderful time on the resort. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Especially Mr Miguel, seeing him most mornings for breakfast brightened up our days. He always gave us idea for activities and spots to check out.
