The resort is amazing! The staff is completely amazing! Kind, courteous and very eager to make sure you have pleasant and fantastic stay! Thank you Curl, Candice, and Carla, just to name a few! The management team were so sweet, both of whom took time to stop in their busy day to sit and talk and get to know us as guests. They made sure we were pleased with our stay AND WE WERE 100%! The only problem I could see was a permanent resident that seemed to bother the vacationers. Made the stay somewhat awkward………(Dave?) I still plan on going back ever chance I get! Thanks Las Terrazas for a great week! And many more I hope!
We stayed in a stunning 2 bedroom suite with plunge pool on patio and a view to the ocean. I can’t explain what a relaxing and enjoyable vacation it was for our first time in Belize other than outstanding and most memorable. Even with the few COVID restrictions still in place, our visit was 1st class all the way. It was so nice to get a taste of the local vibe during the day and return to the luxury of the pool, restaurant, and amenities of the resort for a restful evening. Thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of us during our visit to Belize
The people at resort very attentive and helpful. Our room was the Penthouse unit with dipping pool and quiet. The large unit was fully equipped with large shower and large jacuzzi tub. Our balcony was very well done. Location was great a couple miles from downtown. We were able to fish, snorkel, and swim in ocean. Truly enjoyed the golf cart excursions into town for food tour and eating. The fish we caught were prepared that night by the Chef with different preparedness. Truly great!
We, along with another couple, just returned from Las Terrazas Resort. Personally, staying north of town was ideal to providing more privacy and more of the island experience My husband and I had visited the island 15 years ago; when there was absolutely nothing past Captain Morgan's (about 2 miles north). We stayed at a small hotel in town. The reason I mention this is that you can now stay away from town without ever visiting San Pedro and the hustling of golf carts thru town. Some find this a fun part of their vacation. We enjoyed being more relaxed than the visits in to town provided. Enough of that ... We thoroughly enjoyed the oversized rooms with excellent A/C; which was needed during the summer heat! After a day of being on the beach, at the pool or on an excursion, it was so refreshing to come back to the A/C! Beds are comfortable. The refrigerator in the kitchen was ideal for stocking with waters and beers and a few snacks. The washer & dryer in the room was perfect to wash our clothes before departure and arriving home without a mound of beach ware to toss in the washer when we returned home. While the pool is where most people chill out when not on a tour, a beach hammock with a Pina Colada was such a relaxing way to spend an entire afternoon. The breeze of the palms made the beach totally comfortable. The food! While we ate at some other restaurants, we more often selected to have our dinners at O Restaurant (at the resort). The food was just better and service more attentive than other places we tried. Ask the Chef to surprise you with an off dinner appetizer or entree. The boys went fishing one day with enough fish for two dinners. We asked for the fish to be prepared with a cream sauce and topped with crab, scallops and lobster, which was the best of all of the ways the fish was prepared. Curried and Mediterranean were also hits. An off menu appetizer was seared tuna with black pepper on top of a bed of garlic mashed potatoes wrapped in plantain. Oh my goodness!!!! The servers; whether during a meal or lazing by the pool were extremely attentive. Top notch service! Noreen, Wendy, Laby and Steven; all servers, took exceptional care of us during our stay. Apparently, Bernie the Bartender is a hit with guests. We saw an online comment with the title of G.O.A.T. assigned to her. I marveled at the guests and their drinks she was able to keep track of during our stay --- as well as her Pina Coladas for breakfast and throughout the day! TIP: bring your own Yeti to keep drinks cold and fresh instead of quickly melting in the island sun. Curl Bell is THE MAN! He booked a day of half day reef fishing, the Belize Food Tour and a full day, private catamaran sail to Caye Caulker. If budget allows, I recommend the private Cat. Being on the water with only your people, stopping at your whim, and being lulled by the waves of the Caribbean was the highlight of the trip. It included beer, rum punch, sodas, water, juice and ceviche with chips. The colors of the Caribbean and looking out till the sea meets the sky is something out of a Caribbean postcard! Use the front desk team; including Curl, Sarai and Candice. We heard where some guests booked their own tour and the operator did not show up as scheduled. The trip got rebooked and the boat had engine issues. It is just more comforting to let the resort book for you instead of trying to save a few bucks and book on your own. Oh - there is a man who lives there; David, who tells guests he is an owner (implying owner of the resort; but not true) and also says he founded Office Depot. Ummm - not true. (why lie when facts can be researched online?). I had already heard of him from a friend who coincidently stayed at Las Terrazas the week before we did so I was prepared. He seems to talk trash about the General Managers and "force" his way in to conversation with guests. Our friends indicated they would leave the pool each day to not deal with him. We asked a server to point him out and then just avoided eye contact and the usual "pool side friendliness" we have when on vacation. The Covid test, needed to return to the US, was so easy. We booked it with the front desk. The tech came to our room at the designated time and the results were within minutes; while she was there. We flew on American and loaded the results in to their VERIFLY app. TIP: upon arrival in to BZE, there is only one employee at the Medical Check point to verify you have proof of vaccination or negative Covid test. If you can, sit as close to the front of the plane as possible, to be at the front of this line. This seems to be the area where you get stalled. We were in first class and made it thru Medical check point, Immigration, Baggage Claim and Customs in about 30 min. The resort booked our local flight to the island and I understand if you get hung up, the airline will just put you on the next flight. Upon landing at San Pedro Airport, the Las Terrazas driver will meet you for the van transfer to the resort. It is all easy - peasy! Alot of info here, but if you read this far, with so many options of places to stay, we recommend Las Terrazas. Comfy rooms with lots of space, location, location, location (close to Truck Stop and much shorter ride to Secret Beach than staying in town or south of town), stellar staff and excellent food - all on a great beach with a beautiful pool and staff who will attend to your every whim. My husband has already booked a return fishing trip for early next year with "the guys"…
Las Terrazas was a property I would have love to have stayed in for our upcoming visit but it was not in my price range....But, the US based Director of Sales responded to an inquiry immediately! And, continued to help me plan my vacation knowing we weren't able to stay at her resort. She texted me with suggestions, advice, recommendations and really cared about our upcoming trip! Hopefully, I will be able to stay at that resort one day- if their professionalism and kindness is even a touch of what the director showed me than the place has got to be fantastic!
