This is a really beautiful place and a great location - we had coffee on the balcony and then strolled outside to the river...boats, fog, sunrise...just gorgeous. We were in the Port Captain room. The room was a little musty when we arrived, but this resolved quickly with an open door to the balcony and the ceiling fans on. We...

We stayed in Attache on this trip, our first time in that unit. I thought the location at the back - no water view - might be a negative but to the contrary, the afternoon sun made it bright and cheery. As usual, the room was spotless and furnished with everything you'd want for a comfortable stay. I could stay...

The Consulate contains four suits (actually one and two bedroom apartments with full kitchens) located on the second floor of the historic Grady Market building. The suites are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The prices are reasonable. The suites are on the waterfront within walking distance of all of the historic, shops, bars, and restaurants in downtown Apalachicola. Breakfast is not...

This place is terrific. Very professionally organised - if you arrive late, they will have a key waiting for you in a secure location. When we arrived, the cleaning team were finishing off some of the other rooms and graciously allowed us to see what the other suites looked like (of course we preferred ours) Everything is immaculate from the...

Of the four available suites, we booked the one bedroom and it was spacious. We enjoyed the balcony and full kitchen. The location was perfectly centered in town and a short walk anywhere. There were 3 of us and the room was supposed to accommodate 4 guests according to the website. Well, in our case, I don't agree. The single...

We recently stayed in a 2BR suite for a few days and had a good visit. We had previously stayed in one of the smaller units. We arrived a little before the stated check-in time of 3 pm and were told summarily to come back after 3. The person with whom I spoke made no effort to determine if the...

Wow, this place looked nice on-line, and we were not disappointed--nice furnishings, comfortable bed, nice wooden floors, a TV in the bedroom and living room, a washer and dryer. It really wasn't that expensive considering you could eat all your meals there if you wanted to. The kitchen was equipped with everything you might need. It was also nice having...

My husband and I spent the night at the Consulate Suites. What a gem! The cost was a little more than others in the area, but definitely worth it. Imagine our surprise when we opened the door and saw wood floors, high ceilings, beautiful furnishings, a complete kitchen with Vietrie, (Italian dinnerware) extremely clean, and a washer and dryer. It...

Excellent restoration of historic building. The suite we stayed in (and another we peeked into) were beautifully outfitted with charming details and nice furnishings. The location was ideal and the view outstanding. The weekday rates were very reasonable.

Details make the difference. From gourmet teas and coffee (whole bean) to luxurious soaps, lotions and shampoos (L'Occitane En Provence), the Consulate goes above and beyond. Four unique, impeccably decorated (and immaculately clean) suites sit atop The Grady Market. The two large suites in the front share an expansive balcony overlooking the Apalachicola River. We've stayed in both with other...

“They have 4 different configurations of apartments. The Ambassador was 1650 SF with 2 bedrooms. That one is the largest. Even the smallest at about 900SF would be awesome. It is not like a hotel...it is an apartment in lovely little gem of a town. You would have to check to see if it has an elevator, we used the stairs”

“All rooms are great, choose what you need for the size of your group. There is no services or swimming pool. Rates may be a little pricey. A good place to relax, go to the beach. Shop, go sight seeing, enjoy the history of Old Florida!”
