I was forced to stay overnight in Auburn due to a closure of Interstate 80 (snow / accidents). I found no negative issues with this hotel. Happy and would return. Location was close to I80 and restaurants / food.

Lady on the phone indicated full breakfast. The reality was very poor. Cheap bread, machine that required 10 minutes to get enough waffle batter to cook. Breakfast police that told me I could not take food out of the room, even though I told him I had a sick wife that could only eat dry toast. I was really stealing... More

It is always nice to be greeted when you are trying to check in to your room. That certainly was not the case here. The woman at the desk was less than friendly. She seemed like it was upsetting to her to have to check someone in. No hello, what can I do for you. Our room had a nice... More

Motel 6 was booked. Had to get room here for 40% more. Lobby was about the cleanest part. Parking lot walk ways dirty. Carpets walls ceilings dirty and stained. Not worth almost the same price as Best Western. Do not recommend.

We stayed here for 1 night before my son's wedding. The room was adequate. The bed (king-sized) was large and comfortable. The TV was fine. We also had a small fridge. The bathroom is set up weird with the sink in an open area just inside the door. Problem is if someone opens the door while you are at the... More

I wish I had something, anything, nice to say about this place, but honestly, it was just horrible. The pictures on their website looked OK. Our family of 5 booked 2 rooms here, we were in town to see relatives. Apparently it was a very busy time in Auburn with a Chihuahua dog convention, and a motorcycle convention, and all... More

The hotel itself is manageable, it has a lot of updates, but needs new carpets desperately...always grosses me out. Here's the craziness....no fault of the ladies at the front desk, they were very nice, this is clearly a manager problem...I've been on an adventure trip for 2 weeks and frequently do laundry in hotels, this one said it had on... Big rooms, comfortable beds, nice looking lobby, quiet area, overall we liked it. The thing we did not like - dirty chairs in the cafeteria, all in stains, they definitely need some cleaning. Will return if we have to stay in this area again..

I stayed at the Red Lion in Auburn for one night for a business trip to Placer County. The exterior of the property is delightful and quaint. The interior is clearly being slowly upgraded -- there are still lingering reminders of the former affiliation, along with a random pile o' dead refrigerators in the lobby -- but the bed was... The hotel was clean and quiet. Rooms were big, and wifi was strong and fast. The pool was clean and had a hot tub. The hotel was really conveniently located right off route 80, and was close to Old Auburn and a number of restaurants and shopping centers. Great spot to stay at if rafting the Middle Fork of the...
