This Marriott is located right off of the 101 in Atascadero right across the street from a Home Depot and Starbucks (w/Drive Thru). Easy on/off for sure. Even though it's right next to the freeway, I am not able to hear it at night. It's 10 minutes from Downtown Paso Robles so it's convenient to restaurants and wineries. Now on to the hotel. I like that the room is modern with a kitchenette that has a microwave, mini fridge and a 65" TV. One tip though, if you plan on using a Roku or other streaming device, make sure you unplug the phone cable that's plugged on to the back of the TV. You could either plug it into HDMI1 port or if you press the power button on bottom of the TV, it will allow you to scroll over to change the Source. We had a 2 Queen room and it looked nice and clean carpet. However, I don't know if I like having the toilet in a separate room from the shower. I can see where this is convenient when traveling with others, but I guess I'm so used to having everything in one room, it's a little weird for me. The toilet has a very big bowl with very little water and when you press the flush button, if you are a guy, you will get a free was for your boys. The shower has shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a pump attached to the shower wall. I understand why they do this, but I worry that it doesn't get checked by housekeeping and you end up with an empty dispenser. The shower head barley has any water coming out of it. There's no pressure whatsoever and just a trickle. There's also no hook to hang your wet or dry towels. I don't understand why there isn't something this simple installed in the bathroom. I ended up having to hang my towel on the shower rod before and after my shower. A few good things is that the front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms have a bunch of outlets to plug in your devices. There is free breakfast that ends around 9am (9:30 on the weekends). The food is just ok. Nothing special. They do have about 4 waffle makers and these are the mini waffles and not the large sized ones.…
We stayed at this hotel because we had a free night with our Marriott points, and we’re attending a concert at the Mid State Fair. They were located about 10 minutes away. The property itself is really beautiful, and the building is well-maintained. There is a beautiful pool and sitting area behind the hotel that was really nice. The lobby is gorgeous, and they also had a bar and small restaurant on site. The restaurant doesn’t offer a lot, but what we had was decent, and it was nice to have considering there’s no restaurants within walking distance from the hotel except for Starbucks. The property is a bit isolated off the freeway, but it was fine for our purposes for this trip. We had a king suite with a sofa bed, and it was really large and spacious. I also enjoyed the complementary breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.…
Bad experience with management of this property. We are Marriott members and have come to expect much better. Long story short, we had a sick individual in our family and discussed the possibility of Covid exposure with front desk day of our check-in. We never checked in and our trip was canceled, we had to go home. Per staff, we were advised they would get OK from upper management and likely refund could be given considering medical justification. After waiting a few weeks with multiple unreturned calls to the property as well as emails to General manager Marcus Hernandez without reply, we contacted Marriott corporate to initiate a case. Finally received communication from Kai Kehler supervisor who at first denied that we even contacted the property check in day and then after research found notes indicating that was the case. Unfortunately however she still denied a refund. Because we booked through Expedia, we also requested Expedia reach out directly to this property in hopes Atascadero SpringHill would reconsider but unfortunately decision still stands. At this point we are in a credit card dispute and would caution anyone considering a stay here given the extremely poor customer service and lack of regard for guest health risks.…
What a great surprise! Super comfy and cute rooms. Very cool lobby and bar and great outdoor space. Also the breakfast was amazing. Veggie sausage! Heck yeah. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible staff, most particularly the front desk team! Great stay!!! Thanks, Jerry & Katie
Both room and public areas are updated and well kept. However,Customer service was a bit lacking. When I checked in, my membership was not mentioned and when I asked for complimentary water…I was told they were out today. I was also informed the restaurant was not open..A point to note that only Starbucks and Home Depot are within walking distance, all other restaurants require a car. Ordered a glass of wine and was served a $15 glass without being informed of other options. Lastly, when I called to ask why my room had not cooled while I was at dinner, I got little information, when in fact it seems the room does not cool when unoccupied. All of this to explain my 3/5 rating, just an average experience with less than average service. A bit disappointed .
Staff is great, however management needs to hire more housekeepers! They posted a sign saying they only clean rooms after staying bore than 6 nights! This is ridiculous for a $350 a night hotel, might as well do Airbnb. The hotel staff is friendly but they are clearly overworked. Per their new policy, I merely asked for towel refresh and to change the trash. They couldn’t get to it after 9 hours and constant reminders due to the short staff. Towels were piling up and trash also. It’s just unsightly. Management can’t blame “health and safety” anymore, with restaurants open fully and none of the staff wearing masks. It’s merely a way for them to hold back basic services and cut staff. Ridiculous Marriott!
This place is awesome! Especially the food & drink service. Special kudos to Chris who was running a one many show like a one arm paper hanger! Understaffed, but doing his best I'm sure some may complain but for me it's a matter of doing the best you can with what you're given to work with. Highly recommend this place especially if Chris is running the bar and the front of the house! Thanks for a beautiful evening.
Spacious clean rooms, but none of the streaming services on the room TV were functioning during our stay. Netflix and Amazon Prime didn't even open, and HBO was showing an internet connection error whenever I tried playing a title. After struggling with it for about 10 minutes, I called the front desk only to be told that there is a global issue with streaming services and I was out of luck. Why wasn't I informed about this during the check-in? When I asked the front desk about waving the $5 fast internet charge, so that I could stream a movie on a personal device, the clerk told me he would need to ask his manager about it, but never called me back. I then tried connecting to the free "slow" guest wi-fi, but the sign-on page would never even load after a few tries, so I had to give up on the whole idea of watching a movie. There is no excuse for the hotel of this level not to offer complementary fast internet to all guests, as well as not informing the guests about streaming issues and proactively offering some kind of a comp.…
Having stayed at several other similar Marriott properties in California, namely Springhill Suites, staying here was a simple choice. The location is very close to both neighbouring Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, the rooms are spacious and well designed, the pool is a nice touch especially for the warmer days, the gym is well equipped, breakfast and parking was included in our stay and the staff is welcoming and attentive. The only negative was that we had dinner at the restaurant on our last night and, although the staff was lovely, it was rather disappointing and quite pricey for such an underwhelming experience.. The portions were inconsistent as was the quality. The restaurant aside, we did have a lovely stay!
Had a great weekend stay after some wine tasting. Breakfast is a nice perk to have before going out for activities at Pismo Beach. We forgot some clothes in the closet and they were quickly shipped back to us through their lost item website – kudos to the housekeeping team for the rapid response.
