We are currently staying here - 3/4 of the way through our trip. We started out thinking they were a little pretentious but we have settled in and they are extremely welcoming and the service is excellent. Firstly, the location is as good as anywhere else for the DC area - right across from the White House - a++. The...

You walk out the hotel and look down the street only to see the beautiful White House! My husband and I stayed three nights in mid-June 2015. We stayed in the St Johns Church View room. When you opened your curtains there was a beautiful view of the Washington Monument. The wi-fi was included in room fee and was extremely...

My wife and I enjoyed a 7 night stay at the Hay Adams at the end of June 2015. We choose the Hay Adams because of its proximity to the White House and the National Mall. It is located just 1 block north of the White House across from Lafayette Park. Our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are nicely...

Spectacular 1920s building with old world touches, close to the White House and other attractions. The night we arrived there was a huge thunderstorm and George W Bush was a guest at the hotel. It was buzzing with security teams but that didn't stop the first class service. We dined at Off the Record, the wonderful basement bar (twice in...

This is a five-star property with a very able and well-trained staff. We arrived by bicycle after a very long and hot day of riding. Admittedly we were not the prototypical guests. The staff was at first unsure as to how they should treat four cyclists who pulled up to the main entrance among the cabs and limos. However, they...

This hotel is the best I have ever been to! The hotel has a reputation that is totally deserved. The attention to detail in every area, from the lobby to the rooms, is impeccable. I have never been in a cleaner hotel room, ever. The floors were spotless and the bedding fresh. I always seem to find nicks on the walls from luggage or dirt in the corners, but not...

Perfect location for walking to the museums. Everyone in this establishment was eager to make sure our trip was memorable. We enjoyed the restaurant and the Off the Record Bar on the premises. Most certainly I will remember the friendly staff.

I am originally from DC. When I go back to visit I generally pick hotels based on location depending on my plans. This trip required staying downtown. I was thrilled with the opportunity to stay at the Hay-Adams. Staying here is almost like staying at the big white house a block away. The hotel operates on the manners and treatment...
