Have stayed in Kimpton hotels before and you can count on them for being a bit special for a chain. Didn't eat in their on-site restaurant (no early breakfasts on weekends!) but room was pleasant, altho even for a standard the bathroom was extremely tight.

This is our 3rd stay at a Kimpton hotel, the others being Philadelphia and Santa Barbara. We have been so impressed with Kimpton hotels and search them out when we travel. This one left us very disappointed. The room was large, bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom was very small and the tub was in bad shape. Overnight parking... More

We stayed in DC for 4 nights and booked the room with bunk beds in it for our family of 5 (3 boys 9 - 13). Although a suite offers more privacy; the bunk beds and pull out couch were sort of in a cubby (with a 2nd TV and game system). It was perfect for our family and especially... More

Honestly for the money, it should be way better. The furniture in my room, 1008, was old and had good stains on it. Everything else was very clean. Bathrooms are very small but since I was alone, it was fine. Their isn't really much to the hotel, it's small; very little amenities. However, cause of that it was endearing. The... More

The staff make the experience at Hotel Madera. We stayed six nights here and were greeted by name as we came and went to discover Washington DC each day. Every employee we encountered greeted us. The room was spacious enough for two comfortably; clean and well-kept. The location by DuPont Circle allowed us to walk everywhere. Wine hour each afternoon... More

Firstly I got a great deal on this hotel when I booked it in April though the falling pound took the shine off the rate. For what I paid my expectations were lowish but I have to say it delivered a great stay in buckets. I stayed 6 nights. It's location makes it walkable to everywhere very easily and the... More

This property is a FAR cry from the other Kimpton hotels I have stayed at. It doesn't even bear the same resemblance, and certainly isn't the same quality of room, service or food. The room was spacious, but the space was totally wasted on what amounted to an oversized hallway. The bathroom and sink were not in the same space.... More

Very good location bar DuPont Circle. Easy metro access in a quiet, leafy neighborhood. Room was very large. A great value on a November weekend. Very warm and friendly hotel. Great staff. Would definitely return.

A most pleasant hotel, large rooms, excellent friendly staff, a decent restaurant especially for breakfast. One star off because when the restaurant got busy it slowed down a little. Seemed like a number of local folks also use it (a good sign). Good location close to the subway, small stores and other restaurants. The front balcony rooms higher up were... More
