Our favorite DC hotel, The River Inn, has recently reopened. We were upgraded to a large room with a kitchen. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, especially Camron at the front desk. The quiet residential neighborhood but easy access to all DC attractions is unbeatable.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is located in Foggy Bottom--walk to the Watergate, shops, waterfront, GW etc. The rooms are clean clean clean, super nice and big with separate sitting areas and a full kitchen. The beds are really comfortable. The staff is very professional and friendly.

This is a wonderful and convenient spot if you are in the DC area and want walkability in a beautiful neighborhood setting. From the moment you turn down the charming street and see The River Inn's awning, you start to feel comfortable and relaxed. And while the rooms are old, there is a quaintness and comfort in the warm welcome you receive from staff. Having a small kitchen makes the preparation of meals a cinch and a nice way to budget for your vacation. With walking proximity to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, it is easy to utilize the kitchen. A repeat return for me, for sure.

The River Inn is a true gem--from the welcoming green lights on the trees out front to the spacious room and everything in between! The associates at the front desk were always congenial and helpful, as was the parking valet. I had called the hotel several times before our stay with questions which were thoroughly answered in the most friendly manner! Our room (Potomac double suite) was so spacious and comfortably furnished. The bathroom was not huge, but the extra vanity just outside the bathroom door helped immensely, plus there were several full length (over-sized!) mirrors throughout, so no competition for mirror-time! The beds were comfy, and the linens were quite nice. We didn't have time to borrow the bikes in the lobby, but that is a nice perk to offer, in addition to the fitness area. The location of the hotel is just a couple of blocks from the Metro, just a few blocks from Georgetown, and within walking distance of many of the DC landmark sights. Overall, we highly recommend the River Inn, and we are so glad we took a chance on a smaller, local chain hotel! Thank you for our wonderful 3 night stay!

I recently stayed at The River Inn and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect. Feels out of the way while still being in the city. The Foggy Bottom metro stop is just a few blocks away, there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby and Georgetown is within walking distance. It's on a tree lined residential street and feels very homey. I stayed in a one bedroom suite looking toward the Potomac. My room was huge! Kitchenette (no oven but did have a microwave, cooktop, toaster and fridge), dining area, living room, bedroom with king bedroom and a bathroom with a separate vanity. The living area has a wall of windows and was so light and open. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed staying at The River Inn - I will definitely be back.
