Such a nice location and hotel. I recommend for those who are not planning on spending an excessive amount of time in the hotel. No buffet or food options although there's a cute market with drinks/coffee/tea bar inside it. beautiful hotel too!! staff was very helpful!! pool and gym was awesome!! a very short walk to the metro (to go downtown, etc) as well as easy access to the national mall. it is also close to some great eateries (personally recommend open city for breakfast/brunch as it is right across street). great hotel!!!!!!

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at the fabulous Omni Shoreham for a small, pandemic-era wedding that had been post-poned for 9 months, moved from Virginia to Washington DC, and reduced in size by 80%. This elegant, classic masterpiece Omni Shoreham and its exceptional staff accommodated our families with just a few weeks' notice. More importantly, every member of the team seemed truly happy to see us and to go out of their ways to make the event special and memorable, from the doormen to the front desk staff, to housekeeping, to the hotel manager himself. The welcoming, smiling staff met every request with a can-do attitude, thought of things we hadn't, and genuinely seemed to care that we had the best possible time. Guest services agents knew who we were immediately and were expecting us with the kind of welcome normally reserved for personal friends. They set us up in excellent rooms and incredible suites overlooking the beautiful cherry blossom-filled "back yard," and reminded us to let them know if there was anything they could do. They meant it. When I thought we might have forgotten a phone or camera tripod, the agent on duty said "It's a big hotel; I'm sure we have something that will work. If not, I can bring something from home." When the coffee shop became overrun by more morning guests than the hotel had seen for months, who should come to the rescue, but General Manager Mark Roche-Garland, drawing espresso, steaming milk, heating pastries, and ringing up fruit and Greek yogurt like a pro. He and the regular barista shrunk a groan-inducing line to nothing in short order. The wedding itself was held in that lovely back yard, with dinner on the elegant patio, accompanied by our string quartet. My job was to meet the florist when she arrived, but the hotel's wedding coordinator stepped in, told me to relax, she had it handled. Staff set everything up and returned everything to order while we slept. With the restaurant still closed due to COVID -19, we needed to bring in food. The hotel provided space in the private dining room that opened to our patio dinner space to set up dinner, keeping doors open for pandemic-era air circulation. At the end of the evening, we returned to our rooms to find champagne and chocolates, courtesy of the hotel manager. The wedding wasn't what we originally planned; it was better. It was perfect. And it felt like everyone at the hotel was celebrating with us and for us. I would highly recommend the hotel and its amazing staff, for an event, for a week or a weekend in Washington (just a quick walk to the Metro), for a special, memorable night.

My husband and I stayed in Richmond, VA at the Omni and it was great. So, on our return trip from SC we booked Omni again in DC. Big error. First we were told that they only offered $55/night valet parking. Yet, due to COVID, I was unable to register on line. That made no sense to me at all. We arrived and found parking street side for free right next to hotel. Registration was efficient however when I asked if they had a lounge I was offered the option to purchase a bottle of wine for $15. They had red (Merlot) and white (Chardonnay). Neither my taste, I was then offered a small individual sized prosecco. Went to room, hot and stuffy. Turned on air and it was like we had entered a machine room - super loud. I emailed at 2:23 am to tell them I was not able to sleep because air conditioning unit is extremely loud. I have it on auto and set at 74 degrees. This was during our recent heat wave. I could turn it off but fear it would be overly warm. The little refrigerator didn't work either. It was not very cool. I went to get ice and found two little dead bugs in the bucket. I lined it with the plastic bag and then found the machine was not working and had to go to 7th floor to get ice. Just some other aspects that contributed to a terrible stay - probably my worst stay at a hotel ever: offered two pillows for a king sized bed for two people, one warm bottle of water in malfunctioning refrigerator, windows had no screens but opened fully (on fifth floor) - beware guests with small children. Curtains completely covered ac unit so I had to leave them open in order to get the cool air into room. In total probably got two hours of sleep due to extremely loud ac unit. I was never asked how my stay was when checking out the next day. Offered two coupons for a free coffee at the Starbucks. Line really long so tossed them. I completed the survey and wrote to the hotel manager -- never heard back. The hotel boasts they host, "presidents, world leaders and inaugural balls, making it a true landmark in our nation’s capital." Oh dear, I guess if you're not a president or world leader, service is minimal. After two weeks, still waiting for a response....

After being fully vaccinated, the first thing I wanted to do was visit my daughter who lives and works in DC. I chose to stay at the Omni Shoreham and it turned out to be a great decision. It was wonderful to be right in the city yet feel like you were at a spacious, lush resort. It was immaculately clean, very comfortable and convenient and the staff was friendly and professional! I would definitaly stay here again,

We where going to stay 2 nights but had a family emergency and had to leave after 1 night. The staff was caring and understanding and canceled the second night with no issues. Will stay there again when we visit DC again.
