Our family stayed here on a Saturday night on our way North. After a soul-crushing traffic jam on I-95 it was a relief to get into the City. The parking garage was very easy to find (it's the National Theater garage), and it was easy to get to the hotel lobby from the Garage. They aren't doing valet parking, they are offering self parking for $20 a night. The desk agent was AMAZING. Very friendly, polite, professional, and helpful. I asked if any upgrades were available (I'm somewhere in the Marriott status hierarchy. Whatever the one below Titanium is. I'm also Diamond Hilton and whatever the 2nd tier at Hyatt is.) She said not much was available, they were at 95% capacity. But she found an Ambassador Suite on the 7th floor. The view you see in the Trip Advisor pictures? That was our view. We had balcony access. The room was large, it had a Murphy bed that was actually very comfy! And the location! I've parked at the WTC parking garage across Pennsylvania Avenue many times and never realized there was a hotel right here. We went to sleep and woke up with a view of the Washington Monument. We were able to order room service for dinner after a walk on the Mall to the Lincoln Memorial. We got a couple of pizzas (one gluten free) and they were delivered very quickly and were delicious. The Hotel gave us two $25 food credits for Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast was two omelets and a bagel for the kid, ended up costing $8.00 for both meals after the credits. As someone who has been living in hotels for the last few years for work, I can't recommend this hotel enough. 5 enthusiastic Trip Advisor green dots from this family.

i just started traveling and had stayed here many times in the past. All great experiences. Stayed here last 3 months about 3 times and every stay was worst then last. I completely understand the current situation, however, the staff here seem completely removed from the customer, no food, cant hold meetings in lobby, still charging full price and when offered 25.00 credit per day I was informed that the gift shop, which was only place serving coffee couldn't take the hotel credit! The place is a tomb and I needed to go across the street to have breakfast (another hotel) I have stayed at JW's in the last weeks, including Tuscan, and they are (even with restrictions) still providing excellent customer service. after 100's of stays over the years- I will no longer add JW to my DC itinerary!

My daughter recently was married in DC. We chose the JW Marriott for its proximity to the DC War Memorial where the ceremony was held as well as the excellent reviews. From our first contact with the front desk our stay was amazing. Emelye Tefera could not have been more helpful. She handled our request for an early check-in, late check out and handicap accessible room. We had a magnificent view of the Washington monument which was all lit up at night. We didn't close the curtains because it was so beautiful. The hotel was fastidious with their Covid protocol. Our room was immaculate. I was so impressed. We can't wait to stay at the JW the next time we are in town.

This hotel is amazing at almost everything it does! But when I went to -3, a maid who cleans the rooms asked if I’m lost. I wasn’t. Then I told her I’m riding the Elevators. She said I cannot because I might cause accidental damage to the elevators when my whole trip was about riding the elevators. That ruined my trip.

This is probably 1 of my disappointed stays ever in any JW Marriott hotels in the US. Location was perfect facing the Freedom Plaza, a few steps to the White House, view of the National Monument, a short walk to the Capital and everything else. Unfortunately, after the historical riot by the violence mobs on January 6, 2021 to the Capital. Washington, D.C. Security wasn’t the same, and we just happened to be in town in late January 2021. It was like a dead town. They don’t allow photo on the lobby. National Guards were checking in at the hotel, they were everywhere, and all packed tight together. I thank them for their service! Don’t get me wrong but they are smoking everywhere by the corner of the hotel, talking closely to each other’s... inside lobby it was packed, and no one gives a damn about the Covid safety, it’s truly sad to see. Wonder why the Covid cases is rising amongst them as the news came out the same week we were there. Nothing open in this hotel except the market in the lobby which DO NOT allow you charge to your Roka, odd. NO VALET, so you have to park on 13th street, $40 a day, you got to get your ticket in & out. We are in our room, room service, put the trash bag outside our door, almost 2 days, no one picked up. We had to bring it to the elevator trash can. We understand the situation but they could have warned their guests BEFORE we check in or that we could have chosen another hotel to stay. The worst thing was their SHOWER HEAD water pressure... I thought my hair conditioner will never be rinse through because of how weak the water pressure was. I ended standing in the shower twice as long as I normally would. So instead of saving water, it was just even worse, all together. We couldn’t wait to get out! We were shocked that they charged in the $800 a night. Who was in the right mind pay for this rundown JW Marriott. It’s a shame for Marriott Bonvoy brand, to say the least! SKIP IT ALL TOGETHER. 2 stars is for the room service ladies drop off our food, they were super nice! Otherwise, it’ll be 1 star!
