My husband and I stayed int he Romance room for a quick romantic anniversary getaway. The Inn keepers, Nani and Kim, were extremely friendly, unobtrusive, kind, and helpful. In fact, we had to check out before breakfast on our 2nd night and a wonderful packed breakfast with a granola bar, apple, Greek yogurt, and hard boiled egg was placed in...

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a getaway to Washington DC. After careful research, we chose to stay at the Akwaaba D.C. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place! The decor, the warmth, the many special touches, and the location in beautiful Dupont Circle, were delightful. Our innkeeper, Nani, could not...

The Akwaaba Inn DC has the essential features of the best B&Bs: a hot breakfast cooked and served by the innkeeper at a big table seating 8 or more people that you can meet and talk with over breakfast, and a common area sitting room. The inn is in a lovely area of the city, about a 10 minute walk...

Great location within walking distance of the historic sights. Our room was cosy room, reflecting the quirky decor used throughout the property. And in an expensive city the accommodation is very fairly priced. Innkeepers Nani and Kim were so welcoming and full of tips to make business and pleasure in DC a breeze. Oh, and great breakfast!

The house is in a great location in a lovely neighbourhood. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The house itself is quite old and feels in need of some TLC but the friendly hosts and other guests make up for that.

My husband and I have stayed at Akwaaba DC twice, for short trips from our home in Baltimore, once in the Langston Hughes room and once in the Zora Neale Hurston room (the front second- and third-floor rooms). The house is gracious and well-kept, and these two rooms are very large and comfortable, if a bit noisy from 16th St.,...

We stayed in the Zora Neale Hurston room. It was big and beautiful. The two person jetted tub was thoroughly enjoyed after walking the city all day, as was the happy hour. The innkeeper, Nani was very personable, accommodating and made delicious breakfasts. The only things we might mention is the windows have transoms that are not covered, so the sun...

This is a great B&B with lots of character and charm. The service from Kim the Innkeeper is top notch, breakfast is very good, and accommodation is comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. They've kept the beautiful architectural design and character of the old Victorian DC row house. In a city with an abundance of over-priced, dull corporate hotels, this is a...

This is a older house in DC, with easy access to locations around the city. The neighborhood is really nice and gives the visitor the feel of city life. The lower level of the house is very special and the dining room is set up for group style breakfast. My room was on the third floor. It was pleasant enough,...

My husband and I love rustic old fashion homes. When I saw Akwaaba Bed and Breakfast, I fell in love with it. When we arrived at the place and entered in the house.
