Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I stayed at the AC Marriott Convention Center recently to go to a concert. The stay itself seemed fine at the time but I came out with a lot of bed bug bites. I would check your bed carefully if you stay here.

We care greatly about every guest’s experience. We take hotel hygiene and sanitation very seriously. As a result, Marriott has established very strict standards of cleanliness for all its hotels that either meet or exceed public health department regulations, including pest control. In the unusual event we are made aware of a concern, we respond immediately to the situation and take the appropriate steps to remediate whatever problem we find. Please feel free to contact me at 202-921-6900

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here while visiting some colleges in the DC area. We were very happy with our choice. The place looks like it's brand new. Very stylish and clean. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. "The Circulator" (a bus system) departs from union station and stops about a block or two away from the hotel before continuing on to Georgetown - made it convenient and cheap to get to/from our train. Rooms are small but typical for major city setting. Beds were very comfortable. Really nice shower. My only complain was that the bathroom has a sliding frosted glass door. Save space I guess but I'd rather have a real door. Small but gorgeous lobby with complementary coffee and tea in the morning and ice water in the afternoon and evening. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy walk to Metro. A bit of a hike to Mall/Monuments on foot.

Great place to stay in downtown Washington D C. Joleen is very nice every time I check in. She understands customer service. I have stayed here many times. As a titanium member the breakfast is terrific. A very trendy hotel. I definitely will be back. The metro is close too.

Pro: It looked nice and was comfortable enough. Cons: The art was scribble scrabble. The pillows didnt smell fresh. The soap was tiny. We ran out of toilet paper. The shower gel didn't lather. There was no microwave. No swimming pool. No concierge. Parking was expensive. No continental breakfast or restaurant or room service. I expected better from Marriott. This is probably their lowest class hotel.

When we got to our room, one of the first things we did was look around to see if it was clean. Pulled back the covers and found crumbs and hair in one of the beds. Found small blood type speck in other bed. Called to get all new bedding and after more than half an hour, no one had showed up so called again. After about another half hour someone showed up but they didn’t have all the bedding and they disappeared for a long time so I called again and at this point they FINALLY offered a new room. I was willing to make the beds myself but they couldn’t round up everything we needed and it was past our bedtime at this point. Someone came to our room to bring us to the new room, and she was really rude about it. There were other people working there who were not exactly warm and fuzzy as well. We’re not high maintenance people so this appears to be pervasive there. Once we got a clean room, things were generally fine. We weren’t in love with the bathroom door which was frosted glass but not a big deal. The location was good and we felt safe, even with our young teenager. Close to one of the Founding Farmers restaurants and other good restaurants

AC Hotels are my favorite - modern decor with a Euro flare. I will definitely add this one to my list and plan to return with family. The hotel is nestled in a cool neighborhood with several good restaurants within a 5 min walk. The Smithsonian museums are within 20-25 min walk.

The hotel is overall very nice with spacious rooms with all amenities. However the staff are not all pleasant and the rooftop bar expensive! We paid $20 for 2 cocktails. The bathroom floor had clearly not been swept or cleaned before our visit as I found other people's hair visibly on the floor. Our mugs from downstairs were not cleared by housekeeping and we were charged for tea to take up to the room. This hotel could be great if more effort was made by the staff.

This is the best dC hotel that I’ve stayed because of the view, location, and comfortably bed. The staff has been more than welcoming and I did not feel unsafe during my stay. I really enjoyed how much of walking distance was within each other and I had a great time! The rooftop is something that you should check out and I will definitely come back!

Pure disappointment from this AC Hotel. Short version: Pick another hotel. Longer version: Check in was fine and friendly. Checked in at check-in time and was offered a room on the second floor even though my advanced preference was a higher floor, I checked in via the app 48 hours prior, and have status. No big deal though. Got to the room. It was fine, until we noticed the used dirty towel on the toilet and used soap. They gave us a dirty room. Mistakes happen. Went to the front desk, and got assigned another room on the second floor. This time, the room was clean but terrible. A small half window (think basement window), below the roof level, overlooking the air conditioning units. Dark and small. I’m certain it was the worst room in the hotel (again, I booked direct and have status). Poor recovery from the staff after having been assigned a dirty room. I wasn’t expecting a room upgrade, rather, I simply wanted the room that I paid for as depicted on their website. Didn’t bother complaining again. I was friendly and gave the hotel a chance. Later on, I ordered an extra pillow, a simple request, or so I thought. I had low expectations, and my low expectations were not met. Inquired an hour later, they said it would be right up. Inquired again after 2 hours, and said to cancel it as I was going to bed. They apologized, but sent it anyway, a total of 2 1/2 hours later. Was not happy. Also, be prepared to wait for a long time to use the elevator in the evenings. There is a roof top bar, and they lock off half the elevators for non guest use. Is this a hotel for paying guests, or a rooftop club? The priority clearly isn’t paying hotel guests. Other cons:bed is too soft and uncomfortable, and air conditioning vent blows right on you at night causing too much draft. Bottom line, poorly designed rooms, poor service, terrible service recovery and there are plenty of other better Marriott brand options in DC. Stay away.

The hotel room was very modern, small (in a good way) and beautiful. The lobby was very nice as well and the gentleman working the morning shift on the weekend was sooo helpful with recommendations for breakfast, I told him i wanted a bagel & he sent me to Pearls Bagels and that is exactly what i wanted and needed. Well located near China town with lots of great restaurants near by. The roof top lounge shares the same elevator with hotel guests which kind of sucks but the lines to get onto the elevator were never too long. I wish it had a pool but it's a lot easier said than done to just add a pool especially to a downtown hotel in DC ahah It's biggest flaw is parking... $60 USD a night is crazy... off site parking across the street is $30 USD a night however it's outdoors so at night it is risky. We parked 2 blocks away in an underground that was well lit up and after 2 nights our parking bill was $45 USD... much better! If parking was cheaper I would give it a 5 star... but due to the price It is a 4 star...

Hi there Vmbec122, Thanks for taking your time to share you experience with our future TripAdvisor guests. It sounds like you had an awesome time exploring Washington DC from our door steps which is the point of course. We're far from perfect but our team does take pride in taking care of our guests and sharing our local hot spots like the Pearls. Sorry we couldn't add a pool as you guessed they're hard to find in DC hotels but our trade off was Ciel Social Club which is a great spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink and small plate. Parking...it's new for us and another hot guest request so we added Valet as an option as you mentioned $60 is the going rate in our neighborhood which does include a delightful 18% parking tax. We get it's not for everyone but we do our best to provide a seamless experience. Thanks again for sharing your review, we can't wait to see you again soon!
