I picked The Riggs Hotel because of great reviews, a great location and it looked fantastic in all the photos. And who doesn’t like the idea of staying in a building that once was a bank? Of course, you never know until you check in… It turns out the hotel lived up to every wonderful thing that reviews and magazines awarded it. The restaurant is beautiful, the rooms are unique and lovely, the bar—in the one time vault—is great. The staff is friendly and accommodating beyond expectations. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Washington DC.
The hotel and rooms are very comfortable. Its located in great proximity to all there is to see in DC. The Staff is very nice, friendly, and accommodating. A really great place to stay when in DC. Enjoy.
The Riggs is my new favorite hotel in Washington DC. I've stayed at the Ritz, Four Seasons, etc. and I must say I enjoyed my stay at the Riggs just as much if not more. Hospitality is very important to me and The Riggs exceeds. I can't wait to go back
Great for families, beautiful installations, well maintained rooms and common areas. Breakfast is outstanding served at the lobby bar - Cafe Riggs. The staff is very attentive and made us feel welcome.
Loved that the Riggs retained the original bank signage and the words "hotel" does not appear. The uninformed observer would think that people going in and not coming out for a considerable amount of time are communing with their money.
Amazing hotel, lovely feel, lovely food and all the staff where amazing. Special mention for Tyjuan one of the bellman team who went out of his way. Great location and easy reach to all the main places of interest Really interesting building and features.
Beautiful rooms and fabulous staff. Bathroom was not as upscale as I would have expected. and the Cafe Riggs was disappointing. The Bar downstairs in the vault was spectacular! Just can't give a full 5 stars for this hotel.
Only 1 block from the arena, and a very nice hotel. Look very close at all the bank-themed touches, as this was a real bank HQ way back when. We always stay here when in town for a Caps game. Parking is a pain so go with valet parking.
This hotel is labeled as a 5-star property but overall functions as maybe a 3-star at best. The rooms are excellent and the food is fantastic. The service is lackluster, however. It took 90 minutes to get room service, even after a reminder phone call at the 45 min mark. Inaccurate estimates of times and just general overall confusion with the basic running of the place. There are plenty of other options in Penn Quarter.
Despite the renovation ongoing in the lobby, the hotel was clean, the staff was professional. the room was quiet, nicely appointed, and comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast French Toast and sausage would have been over the top if it didn't take 1/2 hour to arrive ( with a half full café ) and was served cold. I would have sent it back except I needed to leave for a commitment. Would I go back to the Riggs? Yes.
