Really enjoyed the happy hour atmosphere with DJ, but come on Marriott let your reception people help the bar staff. Long lines waiting for drinks from the friendly but overworked bartenders meant closing a tab took forever. In the meantime the hotel reception staff stood in the same small space behind the bar twiddling their thumbs because they were not allowed to take “bar” money. Not efficient and looked bad. I felt for them because they had to continuously say sorry can’t help you, but felt sorry for the bartender and waiting customers more.
So you can’t deny that the rooms are EXTREMELY small. But honestly, it didn’t impact our stay at all. The room is well organized that even though the space is tiny, everything works well. Tv, table, chair, side table, everything that you expect in a hotel room is there. To compensate, they have really nice sharable spaces. You can go iron your clothes at the end of the hallway, and you can hang out in the “lobby”. I say lobby loosely because it’s more of a chilling zone and bar than anything else. They have games, sofas, everything you might need to spend some time there. Plus, they have a really nice outside patio so that was a bonus too. In terms of location, we thought it was great. Easily walkable for tourists to the National Mall. And when we wanted to go farther, we used the Capital Bikeshare (Lyft) just outside the building to head wherever we wanted to go. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. Great stay in DC.…
The hotel is still having wifi issues. Do not stay here if you need to work! Shower also leaks, we have water under the laminate floor. Wei Ng clearly didn’t look into the wifi issue. Others have reported the issue in previous comments. It’s still a problem.
I travel a lot. I know no business is perfect and it is not uncommon that something goes wrong. However, the attitude how Moxy response is upset. Issue: My collogue and I stay in Moxy tonight @ 8/3/2022, we are in multiple floors and all of us cannot connect the internet. How Moxy Response : 1) I report the problem to the Front Desk Manager @ 7 pm, and she said she cannot do anything and give me a phone number to call the provider. 2) The provider did not answer the phone so she help me transfer. 3) The provider took 30 minutes and instruct me to check my devices. During that time, I told them, this is not the issue for one devices but multiple devices. She said she does not think so as there is nothing wrong showed on here dashboard. 4) She gave up and promise to give me a call later. And no call after two hours. 5) My collegue called and the provider is instructing them to check there devices, where I believe they have already know the issue is not our devices. 6) One of my collgue came back from her party and told us that she had already reported the issue @ 4 pm and she do the same thing. The provider promise to call her back and did not. 7) I asked the front desk if they have already know the issue as my colleague has reported @ 4 pm. 8) The front desk supervisor, who asked me to call, said : Maybe the management team know but I don't know, I just got here. I can not do anything since I don't have the magic. Well, you are in the one team !!!!!!!! She suggested me to work in the public area and I have to do that. However, it is a lobby bar with a lot of people here have fun. It is noisy. So, I know the internet issue is not their wrong but their responses just told me they don't real care about you since they have already know the issue since 4 pm and keep asking people to check their own devices and so on. I cannot accept the excuse that the management team know but I don't know.…
Great hotel, great location, great stay. We had such a fun and comfortable stay with all the greatest DC sights only a few blocks away! The convenience of a cute hotel bar isn’t so bad either. Don’t miss out on their complimentary gummy bears when you’re craving something sweet 😉 Thanks for a great stay!
I checked into this hotel and immediately checked out. The room was claustrophobically small. There was no desk, no closet and the bathroom was all glass. It was a "cool" hotel but given the amount of work I need to do after meetings in DC, this place was not for me. I was also confused there was no closet to hang business clothes and only a few pegs on the wall (II assume to hang things). The staff was great and accommodated my request to check out they said "the MOXY is not for everyone"... I assume this means I was not the first one to leave the hotel.
Best Moxy I've stayed at. The energy in the lobby was spot on, staff was awesome and helpful, and the room had great sunlight. You're close to everything and can walk just about anywhere if the heat isn't too bad. Area is also quiet at night which is a plus (but still close to nightlife). Definitely recommend.
Rooms were decorated in a striking fashion. Bed & pillows were comfortable. Check in and out seamless. Cool reception area and staff were great!! Would recommend. Only draw back is the room is small and provides limited space to work from your room but the lobby has ample space to work from. For vacation it was perfect.
As a guy who usually likes large and classically appointed rooms, I was worried when I realized what I had booked. Because I'm a titanium bonvoy guy, I got their largest corner room, which is still very small. But it was great for solo traveling when you aren't planning on working or hanging out in your room. The lobby area was fun but definitely younger adults and young families. I had a great time and kudos to the staff who repeatedly checked in to make sure I was satisfied. Not my style but impressively solid. Thanks Moxy.
I checked out a few minutes after I checked in because I didn't realize the beds were basically futon mattresses. Not for me. That said, the room was clean, the lobby seemed like a pleasant place to work and the woman at the front desk could not have been nicer or more accommodating about my request to essentially cancel the reservation. This seemed like a great place to stay if you're in your early/mid 20s and want some place clean, safe and fun - but it was not the right choice for me now.
