What I love about the Tabard Inn is that each room is unique and special, and the staff are very very courteous and go our of their way to assist. I arrived with a heavy bag, and as my room was way up several flights of winding stairs, someone kindly helped bring it up for me. It's very centrally located,...

This is a lovely hotel with a very friendly staff (especially Patricia at the front desk). The restaurant is also very good. We enjoyed the scones and coffee in the lobby in the morning. Charming and quaint are definitely good words to describe it. This is a hotel for people who want something different than the sterile environment of the...

The Tabard Inn is the embodiment of one of the best ideas of our republic—the dignity of each individual—guest, food server, chef, doorperson, desk clerk, manager. This is a gathering place for real people of all ages. The average age of the 39 people in the fireplace room one night this past week looked to be around 30 years old....

I am currently traveling to DC once a month and had been staying in airbnbs. The Tabard Inn was so much better then any of my past stays in the city and the price was comparable. The staff is extremely friendly, the rooms are quaint and cozy, and on top of that breakfast is amazing. The Tabard Inn is a...

The Tabard Inn advertises itself as quaint, vintage, quirky... but those words are just euphemisms to disguise the fact that it is a crumbling hell hole. From the photos on their website we expected a chic old world hotel but once we checked in and hobbled up the musty and damp stairs, we were greeted by a room that looked...

The Tabard Inn was cobbled together in 1922 from three townhouses in the Mayfair neighborhood of D.C., just south and east of Dupont Circle. It may be the oldest continuously operated hotel in the city, and in the past when I stayed here in my youth with lovers and then husbands, it felt a little shabby at times. But when...

Dearest Kit-Kat- Thank you both for your kind review and your crispy wafer milk chocolate goodness. I too, am a long time fan of yours. In all seriousness- Thank you for your wonderful review of the Tabard. Your observation regarding the maintenance improvements of the Tabard is much appreciated. My husband and I had a great brunch. He had the salmon hash, which was incredible. It's not always on the menu, but was easily one of the best brunch dishes I've tasted. I had the eggs Benedict with crab cakes which was also yummy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary celebration last night at the Tabard Inn. The food was delicious and plated elegantly, the service was attentive but not hovering, and they even treated us to a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our 26th anniversary.

The hostess was warm and friendly and gave me several seating options while waiting for my friend to show up. I chose the patio as they had ample heaters to keep us warm. The waiter was friendly and accommodating. Our beacon covered dates appetizer was burned but they replaced it with a new order and they were cooked to perfection....

For a business dinner had butternut squash ravioli. Creamy and sweet and lovely. Salads was nice and blueberry crumble for dessert was very tasty. Ambience in one of the meeting room was very cozy and comfortable. A little chilly so I recommend a jacket.
