My daughter moved to DC about 4 years ago. My wife and I visit a couple times a year to check on her wellbeing. We've tired her couch. Hotels are better. This past weekend, we felt we owed ourselves an upgrade. The St. Regis did not disappoint. Mary was our arrival host. She may have been the most pleasant front desk manager I've ever encountered. She was very helpful guiding us through future reservation questions and perk options. We didn't want to go to the room enjoying our conversation immensely. We had later diner reservations and waiting for my daughter to arrive, we visited the bar. The atmosphere felt like a warm hug from an old friend. Layla let us do some "R&D" on a signature cocktail for the cherry blossom festival. Jane, Deigo, and Tessa were fantastic. They engaged the people sitting around in fun conversation making the start to our night truly enjoyable (okay don't tell, but we went in both nights) it's a good thing I don't live in DC or I might develop a problem. The room was clean, the water hot, the pressure strong, the bed comfortable. We are big on exercise and love to walk. Location was perfect. I can't say enough positive about the St. Regis. See you guys soon.…
If I could give this hotel 6 stars, I would. We had our daughter's wedding here. The hotel staff was fantastic! Our guests had the best time. The food, rooms and location of hotel were all fantastic. We highly recommend for a short stay or event
Oh woah that lobby is truly something. The hotel is almost a century old, and the building still retains much of its interior structure and design to its original form as much as possible. I checked out some rooms and suites, they r from decent to gorgeous. Their bathrooms are some of the most beautiful once ive seen, those tiles on the wall was gorgeous. Now my room was towards the simple side, but u can still tell this is a st regis hotel. But when i checked out their suites, oh woah, they r beautiful. If u have marriott bonvoy high elite status, use ur suite night award to treat urself a suite upgrade. If not, just book the suite straight up, they r really nice. Thank you so much to Front desk agent Jaqua, u have helped me had a wonderful stay, thank you for showing me around the hotel. It was a wonderful property indeed. Breakfast was fine, but instead of offering $60 to each room who has platinum and higher status, why not just offer them complimentary breakfast? $60 really doesnt go far for breakfast in the St regis LOL. But their dining hall was beautiful also. Ill for sure return again next time, probably the top 5 luxury hotels in the city.…
I made plans weeks in advance for the Whimsy dinner experience with my family on Christmas day. The event was over 1K and you could not cancel. Family was coming in from out of town. On Thursday before Christmas weekend at 3pm, I received an email titled "CONDIFENDTIAL" which is inappropriate. They CANCELED my reservation for Christmas day in an email before a holiday weekend for CHRISTMAS! They didn't even call back and when I opened a case with Marriott. The general manager closed it as Miss Communication. Here is the email where they try to move my CHRISTMAS day plans to another day in the week like it would be the same?! They eventually called me because I called and left a message only to tell me that their staff was going to enjoy Christmas with their family and that they are a business. Email at 3pm Thursday Dec 22nd when you can reach no one and all things are booked (FYI - still haven't heard about getting my money back either): Good evening Ms. Wendy We are looking forward to welcoming you for Whimsy360 at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, due to a low volume of reservations, we will have to cancel the 6:30pm show on Sunday, December 25th . We had hoped to get a few more reservations to increase the numbers, but that is not the case. We do have availability in our 6:30pm show on Thursday , December 29th and I would be happy to reschedule you to the earlier show. We also have availability in our 6pm and 9pm show on Friday , December 30th . Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like for your reservation to be updated to either of those options. If neither is convenient for your schedule, we can check availability for future dates. Also, please let me know if you or your guest have any dietary restrictions (allergies, vegetarian, etc.) and if you are celebrating anything with us (birthday, anniversary). If you have any questions regarding the Whimsy experience, please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to your response! -- HORRIBLE…
Extremely poor representation of a St Regis hotel. Uniformed staff, poor service, minimal attempts to correct solvable problems. Stayed 12/31/2022 for the NYE event. Staff was completely overwhelmed. Everything went wrong at the preplannned dinner event, slow service at the NYE party. Actually ordered pizza because room service closed by 1:30 (was supposed to be available 24hrs).
My wife and I stayed two nights this weekend. From our initial greeting by the Door Staff, to check-in, to the bar where we met friends, to the concierge desk (Brian), to the restaurant staff and through check out, no one dropped the ball. Everyone took the time to ensure our interactions were excellent in a professional, non-condensation manner, making us feel like welcomed guests. They set the standard. We felt like friends. The hotel itself is classically historic. All the public areas were decorated consistent with their long tradition. Flowers, lighting, furniture were right on the mark. (The visible wine ceiler in the restaurant was a little modern but their wine list was outstanding). We spent a couple of hours in the bar catching up with old friend. Service was perfect. allowing us the remanence but attentive to our needs. Our room was extremely comfortable. Bed, bathroom etc. were first class and what you expect. I especially enjoyed the "TWO" armchairs were my wife and I could sit and discuss our weekend experience. I have come to hate hotels that skimp and give you one chair and a desk chair (which the St. Regis also had available). It was fully equipped with all the expected accoutrements (coffee machine, safe, duel sinks, etc.). This was our first visit but I assure you, when we return to Washington, we will stay at the St. Regis. I think I forgot to mention their location, two blocks from the White House with an excellent view of our executive mansion from their front door.…
Beautiful hotel, awesome-helpful-friendly staff from check in to the housekeeping team and waiters. St Regis has an amazing location just steps from the White House. We enjoyed an easy and delicious onsite restaurant where we had breakfast each day. Despite being July 4 weekend, we never felt crowded. If you’re seeking luxury and convenience, St Regis DC is a winner!
This was a great stay. We were staying on an AMEX FHR rate but also hold Marriot Titanium status. We were upgraded to a St. Regis Suite which we were grateful for, however the room was much more than we needed. The check-in process was seamless, with Maria? (MM initials) checking us in and being very polite and patient explaining the benefits as this was our first time at this particular hotel. We enjoyed the evening with a great set of cocktails from the bar and watching the evening champagne sabering event. The breakfast at Alhambra was great and the venue was perfect for a Saturday afternoon brunch.
I was so looking forward to our Holiday Afternoon Tea at the St. Regis. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Although the hotel is lovely, seating for Tea is in the lobby, which was very cold. Also, I noticed that some of the guests having tea with small groups were seated on stools. This looked very uncomfortable. For $100 a person, the least the hotel could do is seat its guests in comfortable chairs! There was no coat room, and guests had no place to put their costs, except for those who kept their costs on due to the cold constantly coming into the lobby from the front door opening. My daughter & I had to agree on one type of tea or pay an additional $12 for a 2nd pot. Again, at $100 per person, this is not acceptable. The scones were pretty good & they were served with real clotted cream (American hotels that try to get away with serving whipped cream is a pet peeve of mine), but the finger sandwiches and the sweets were apparently store bought rather than chef made. We have had Afternoon Tea at most of the upscale DC hotels, and Tea at the St. Regis was by far the most expensive and the worst Tea in the district. Although the staff was pleasant, I have many more specific complaints about the poor quality of the experience. However, I will only mention one more disappointment: Any Afternoon Tea is worth the price largely due to its elegant surroundings and often its live piano music. A Holiday Tea generally costs a premium because of the festive atmosphere created by gorgeous Christmas decorations. At the St. Regis, the decorations looked like they were pulled out of storage and put in place with no thought to dusting them off or fluffing the bows. Even if that minimal amount of effort were to have been exerted, the Christmas decor would still have been uninspiring. The single tree and the garlands were not proportionate to the huge space of the lobby. And a gingerbread rendering of the hotel was hardly on display in a dark corner, but that could have been because it was horrible! A chef made custom gingerbread house would NEVER be decorated with a Matchbox car and plastic trees. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I can not recommend it.…
Stayed here for our family thanksgiving. Hotel is full of historic charm. Very nice details in the architecture and decor. We liked the champagne toast at nice. However, the bar and room service were overpriced and the rooms were tired and lacking outlets. The location of the hotel was excellent, very close to the White House.
