I was not impressed by this hotel other than a good location. The rooms were pretty dirty in placed people dont normally look (used razor behind the bed) and I never got coffee or towels replinished until day 6 of my stay, and this was because I ran into the cleaning cart on my way to my room. I asked multiple times for cofffee during my stay on day 2-6 and it was never sent up. Also, don't expect your room to be cleaned while you are there. I made sure to leave the "do not disturb" sign off my door for a tidy session and general towel/coffee replenishment... yet no one ever came to my room during my stay until the last day.
My husband and I are from WA State, he is working for a company from our home town that is doing a major construction project right next door to this hotel so he has been staying here now for the last almost two months; we decided to have me come to visit for 8 days; I am so happy we stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton at Navy Yard...the entire staff is extremely welcoming, accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable about the area and what we should do on the trip etc, they made sure that we got top notch service no matter what time of the day it was...each and every time we walked in and out of the building we were greeted with a smile, "a hello, how are y'all doing, or how was your day and so on." Seriously not one time have we had a better experience staying at a hotel! The location is awesome, you are close to so much...The Nationals Baseball Stadium, several restaurants, bars, coffee places, a park and so much more, way to many other things to list. We rode the electric scooters back and forth to where The Capital, The White House, Shopping Centers, where we took a Tour of the whole city, other Restaurants etc and can't even begin to explain how fun it was to experience...especially at night when the views are breathtaking just an FYI. The housekeeping team is a highly experienced group that makes you feel extremely comfortable in making it feel like you can relax and enjoy your time here! We are very pleased with their santatizing practices as well, whether there is a Pandemic or not they really make the rooms very nice!!!! Everytime we saw one of them in the hallway they were quite friendly as well. Saving the best for last, Marietta, one of the managers at this location is probably the nicest ladies I have ever met, she has treated myself and my husband with the highest level of respect since day one of him and his crew arriving in Washington DC and quite literally goes above and beyond for each and every guest, I truly can't say enough good things about this amazing woman and her caring services. ❤ If you get a chance to stay here, DO IT! I promise you won't regret it!…
Awesome location with the metro station entrance directly across the street and the ball park a mere 2 minute walk. Everything is around you from restaurants to a grocery store only 0.4 miles (Wholefoods). Rooms are large with full kitchen and utensils, stove, large frig/frz and coffee maker. Staff was awesome from checkin to breakfast to check out! Great Hilton property in DC. Simply close to everything!!!!
I have struggled with this review as the hotel itself was in a great location for transport and in a good area for eating and walking (the Riverside was fab). The room was of a good size, the whole hotel was clean and the breakfast was OK it was difficult to judge the pool as two of the four days we tried to swim, other guests had made it so dirty that it had to be closed. The issue was noise: the hotel is on the junction of two main roads so the traffic noise was constant and loud but not as loud as the random concerts put on at the Bullpen diagonally opposite the hotel. Despite us having a quiet room at the back of the hotel, the noise still kept us all awake well into the late evening. Good choice overall but beware of the external noise.
Stayed here during a work trip to the Navy Yard. The Green Line is directly across the street, the Nats Stadium is ~1 block away, and the Navy Yard is a short walk away. Room/suite was very comfortable! Big shower with plenty of hot water. The free laundry was a nice surprise (didn't see it on the hotel's web site). I noticed several small stains on the carpet, but they weren't too bad. The lights in the bathroom were motioned activated which was annoying! Please just replace them with normal switches! The breakfast buffet was pretty basic! No milk was available on the first day (Monday).
Great location in a vibrant neighborhood and close to the Metro. We brought our bicycles with us to DC and found the rooms spacious which made it easy to store our bikes in the room and still be able to move about without them being in the way. The location was perfect for us because we could ride to the National Mall on protected bike lanes. Access to the scenic Anacostia River trail was less than a 5 minute ride from the hotel. The staff was great and were extremely customer service focused. We are already planning a return visit in the fall so we can continue to explore the area by bicycle.
My family and I stayed here in July. The valet staff were amazing. After a very long day of traveling and hitting peak time in the area, there was no valet available and James was so kind and empathetic. I was able to get in touch with his manager Binyam and relayed how kind James and all valet staff were during my stay. The hotel location is not a family friendly location and the breakfast was not the greatest. The majority of my interactions with front desk staff were pleasant. While I may not stay here again, I appreciate the valet staff for being kind and courteous.
We spent two weekday nights here. It’s in a super busy area of DC by the ballpark. We were able to unload the car easy. Staff was present and friendly. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Rooftop terrace offers gorgeous views of the Capitol, the Washington Monument and the ballpark. Terrace also featured cockroaches, both literal and human.
We just finished a very enjoyable weekend staying here. We arrived on a very hot and humid DC day and escaped into a beautifully clean and cool room overlooking M ST on the 10th floor. It didn't matter that the couch cushions were falling apart. At that moment in time, I really appreciated the hard work of the person who cleaned the room. All of the employees we encountered were so friendly and courteous. They made our stay so wonderful. I wish I could mention everyone by name. Just know you all were terrific! And yes, there is something up with the bed linens. After the first night, I had to completely remake it, the comforter was no longer encased in the duvet cover, just had to rebuild everything. If I was housekeeper here, I would lose my mind having to deal with this. Hilton, please come up with a better, more efficient system.…
We had a lovely time at this hotel. It was clean and spacious. The staff was Fantastic! We had some very unexpected changes to our planned trip and they were able to accommodate us completely. We had a very large suite for the 4 of us. We liked having a kitchen area and a full size refrigerator. The proximity to Metro was nice. We were able to get house keeping supplies as needed easily. The pool was small but the kids still enjoyed it. This was a great stay.
