Adventures in the Middle of Nowhere, Nevada Highway 50 - the loneliest road in the USA………. Stopped on the roadside, waiting for Meredith to ‘save us’ from ourselves. Drinking Rombauer wine from Napa in hiking bottles and empty water bottles that were littering the back seat, Forty more miles on the dirt road……The Ranch! A comfy ranch house, a stone...

My partner and I rode across Nevada on mostly dirt roads and stopped at the ranch for a rest day. It was perfect for our needs and Jerry is a larger than life character with some amazing stories. We enjoyed the ranch environment with donkeys, horses and fresh eggs from the chickens. Ike's Canyon just behind the Ranch is beautiful...

We stayed less than 24 hours at Ike's but they treated us like longtime friends. Our trip there was a last minute decision after rain and mud messed up our camping plans for the evening. I had heard about Ike's and was able to track down their phone number and call from Ely to see if they had space. They...

Wild Horse Safaris offed by Jerry Elkins is everything you want it to be. We travelled where no person would go to see herds, hear stories about the area and enjoy the amazing natural beauty of Central Nevada. This is the Nevada you have never seen before. Our accommodations were lovely, and the hospitality shown to us was endearing. Do...

Jerry is a great guy who makes you feel right at home on his ranch. The remote location is exactly what I was looking for. Jerry met me at a rest area 30 miles away and was kind enough to escort me to his place (which was admittedly also necessary, since I would have never found it otherwise). He also...

My girlfriend and I stayed for one incredible week in April at Ike's Canyon through Wild Horse Safaris. This was one of the most unique experiences we've ever had, for several reasons. For one, neither of us have ever travelled so far off the beaten path, this stay is miles and miles from anywhere, and allowed us to fully appreciate...

This was a one of a kind stops in a 2 week trek around CA and NV. I'm so glad we saved the best for last. We saw so many things we've never seen before. Geysers, petroglyphs, wild horses, ghost town, abandoned mine, hot springs and so much more. I loved cooking/baking on the huge stove that we were so...

I worked in central Nevada for several weeks and had the honor of staying at the Wild Horse Safaris for the duration of my stay. Jerry, the owner, is one of the nicest people I have ever met and he was more than happy to show us all of great things to do around the area. The ranch house is...

We were able to make a return visit to the ranch in September and meet up with Jerry again. Just as last time he was very welcoming. The set up for visitors to the ranch has changed slightly from our last visit in that we had access to the ranch kitchen to prepare breakfast and dinner for ourselves, or as...

While working in central Nevada for several months, I had the pleasure of staying at the ranch for extended periods. The scenery, the accommodations, and the host are second to none. Located in a remote area with abundant wildlife and rugged mountains, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking/riding/exploring. The ranch is well designed, built and handles all the needs...
