We had a lovely stay here - the room (and in fact the whole house) was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. There is also a beautiful shady roof terrace overhung with vines and flowers, the perfect place to relax with a book and sip a drink on a hot afternoon. The best part of our stay was our hosts -...

Lovely casa particular in the centre of Trinidad, only 1 block away from the main square. We were welcomed enthousiastically by the hosts, Jose and Hiraida, who basically spoiled us during the 2 days we stayed here. They are very welcoming, warm and friendly. There are 2 spacious rooms, which both have 2 twin beds, a private bathroom and refrigerator....

I spent 3 days with my girlfriend in Hostal Amatista this summer and I can certainly tell it was a great stay, probably the best of my 3 weeks in Cuba. We booked on hostelbookers.com and just few minutes after the booking was done I received an email from Josè & Hiraida with some useful tips about how to get...

Jose and Hiraida were so welcoming and accommodating for our stay back in May 2012. The room was very large and spacious for the price, also there were double fans which help keep the room cool. The breakfast and dinner was amazing and soo much food. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

Jose and Hiraida were great hosts. They were welcoming and took very good care of us. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the table groaned under the weight of the amount of food provided. Very good value and very good food.....oh, and the mojitos...they are indeed, as some other people have said, the best in town (if not Cuba!). Jose...

Thank you again Iraida, Jose and family. Mi familia cubana! This was my 3rd time staying at Amatista and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. For anyone looking for a clean, relaxed, central place to stay in a huge room, this is your casa. The family are so accommodating, with a genuine happiness; they love meeting new folk and you will...

Who knows the cuban standards will be surprised from this place! Sure you will always find things to complain about, but we talk about cuba! So, I stood in this place for two nights with my brother and his wife. It is driven by a very nice couple - if not to say by the whole family. They take care...

I arrived in Trinidad earlier than expected and decided not to wait for them to pick me up, on the way you will get pull every minutes by someone who will try to direct you somewhere else, ignore them, keep walking and get to them, totally worth it. I stayed for 2 days during torrential rain, Jose and Hiraida really...

Amatista was by far the best casa particular we stayed in during our two-week round of Cuba. It's run by a nice couple, Jose and Hiraida, who came to pick us up at the bus station so we did'n have to deal with the crowd of people bothering everyone with their offers. The house is conveniently located close to the...
